Donald Wells received his Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Compton Community College, his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. He also earned his Master of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP) from Charles R. Drew University. He is board certified as a PMHNP.
Born and raised in Southern California, Donald struggled with confidence throughout his childhood and early adulthood. He always loved science and animals and initially wanted to be a veterinarian. However, after participating in a high school program during his senior year where he visited a hospital and met various healthcare professionals, he decided to work with people instead of animals. At first, he aimed to combine sports and medicine through kinesiology but soon recognized the strong need for nurses. Along the way, he developed a passion for psychology, which he pursued after obtaining his nursing license. To reduce burnout and increase career longevity, he chose to advance his education and career. He truly loves his chosen profession.
Donald wants his clients to know that their sessions are a safe space where they can openly share all their feelings, concerns, and experiences. Together, they develop a personalized game plan for care and progress. He always recommends bringing a pen and paper to sessions.
When he isn’t working, Donald enjoys sports, especially football. He plays volleyball and softball in leagues and joins pick-up basketball games when he can. A personal goal is to fully commit to his fitness. He also hopes to travel, learn to play the piano, and work with a vocal coach.
