After graduating from Temple University School of Medicine and completing his residency at the Graduate/Temple University Hospital, Dr. Fredericks did a fellowship in bariatric surgery at New York University studying under renowned surgeons Dr. George Fielding and Dr. Christine Ren-Fielding with a particular focus on the adjustable gastric banding technique in bariatric surgery. He also worked directly for Allergan, the originators of the Lap-Band, and Ethicon, the originators of the Realize Band.
Dr. Fredericks has helped hundreds of his surgical patients successfully lose significant weight, get their lives back and reduce their co-morbid conditions, like diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea.

During a time where seeing a medical professional in person may be concerning, I felt very comfortable, as the office was very clean and both the doctor and his assistant were wearing masks. I came in and was seen immediately. Dr. Frederick was very clear and concise during the consultation, teaching me about the various things my body could be doing. He didn’t make me feel bad about my weight and reassured me that he was there to help me attain my goals. I also appreciate how he did not throw surgery in my face, but indicated that we would be exploring options outside of surgery to assist in reaching my goal.

When I made my appointment with Dr. Fredericks I was a little embarrassed of my weight gain after having weight loss surgery. He made me feel so comfortable. He didn’t rush through the appointment at all. I’ve always talked about if a doctor didn’t have good bedside manners I wouldn’t come back. When I tell you he has impeccable bedside manners; it’s an understatement. He talked through everything but made sure to ask me if I had any questions. I was truly amazed with his knowledge of weight management. I look forward to my next appointment with him!!!!
