Dr. Kung is a graduate of Wellesley College. She earned her MD from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in 1987. She is a board-certified physician and surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Kung performs surgery at Legacy Good Samaritan and Providence Portland Hospitals.
In her approach, Dr. Kung strives to provide individualized care for each and every woman. Prior to moving to Portland, she worked in Beijing, China as a western-trained obstetrician/gynecologist for ex-patriots and Chinese nationals. Dr. Kung was able to learn from her many different patients how health care was provided in their home countries, including Chinese practices such as herbs, acupuncture and massage. With a better understanding of the many options available to women, Dr. Kung will work with each patient to optimize their health.
Dr Kung. is married and the mother of three sons. She enjoys traveling, reading mysteries and knitting. For exercise, she practices Tai Chi and walks or bikes to work and around Portland.

As a nervous, new patient who had not been to the doctor in a few years, I really appreciated Dr. Kung's kind demeanor and bedside manner.
I mentioned going to get a physical, and she suggested getting my blood drawn after my appt to save me a trip which was great.
I loved the ease of booking through zocdoc.
I would definitely recommend her.

Doctor seemed dismissive of the issues I went to the appointment to discuss. I realize it may not be etiquette to bring up health concerns in an annual exam, but she took one look at me and said everything "looked fine"... sure, looks okay, but having been in discomfort that has affected my life for over a year, I would hope for more than a brief glance and a "it looks okay to me," you know? Tried to discuss my health issues and she kept trying to chat about the state of education and unrelated things instead. Trying another doctor next time.

Dr. Kung is an amazing doctor. She spent time getting to know me, my personal and health background, and even my personal interests. We spent about 10 minutes just talking and getting to know one another. She made me feel extremely comfortable as a new patient in her office, and I wish all my other doctor's appointments were as enjoyable! I HIGHLY recommmend Dr. Kung to other women!
