Dr Rubin specializes in the treatment of chronic pain of the low back and neck, and muscle pain related to sports injuries. He works in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons in managing pain in the joints and spine. Dr. Rubin's philosophy is to put patients first. He uses the most up to date research to tailor each treatment plan based on individual needs. Dr. Rubin offers expertise in providing a wide range of treatment modalities including non-invasive laser therapy, medication management, and the most cutting-edge interventional techniques. Dr. Rubin emphasizes the use of non-narcotic techniques when appropriate.
Prior to joining North Shore LIJ and then Winthrop Hospital, Dr Rubin was on staff for 3 years at Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Rubin completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He also trained at Columbia University, the Hospital for Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists, and completed his residency in anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital at the Weill Cornell campus. Dr. Rubin received his Medical Degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, Grenada in 2001.
Dr Rubin takes an active interest in research. He has a certificate in Clinical Investigation from Cornell Medical College and has an ongoing study involving the use of lasers in the treatment of pain.
