Dr. Shelley is an all around class act. He's a rare breed of Physician that combines decades of experience with a hyper-sharp medical mind. He's patient, attentive, unbiased, and meticulous. He'll remember the most minute detail from several sessions back because he takes the time to study his notes.

Dr. Shelley was extremely attentive and gave valuable feedback. He is approachable and makes you feel comfortable. If you are looking to immediately leave with a prescription this is not the doctor for you.

Emailed me to set up a pre consultation call before he would confirm the appointment, but didn’t respond to multiple phone calls during regular business hours. When he finally did pick up, he asked about my availability, which I provided, but then never responded to multiple follow up emails to set up a time. I cannot speak on his bedside manner considering we never actually met, but he was generally dismissive of my concerns during our call, which leads me to believe he would be similar in person as well.

I needed a refill prescription (originally prescribed by a different psychiatrist) of a run-of-the mill SSRI anti-depressant and he refused to fill it because "Big Brother is watching. 1984 is here. If I could write you a paper script I would, but that's illegal and if I send it over the computer it will get registered.” He asked me to write a medical history, and so I wrote one (that my therapist said was excellent), but he refused to read it. He said he skimmed it but that he'd rather hear me talk than read it. He closed his eyes for extended periods of time, sometimes asking me to repeat what I said once his eyes jolted open. I've seen him twice and he was very low energy both times. He showed skepticism when I talked, not believing my experiences until I backed them up with extensive anecdotes. Once he believed me about things he would show compassion. He spoke confidently about certain things (like that there is no such thing as adult-onset ADHD) that new research complicates. He did ask some useful questions I hadn't thought to think about before meeting him—though nothing significant.
