“When looking for an OBGYN on Zocdoc, Dr. Elizabeth August was on the list as an option to perform a pap smear, so I selected her and booked my appointment.
When I arrived they informed me that this was a primary care office, and that Dr. Elizabeth August was NOT a gynecologist. Although that was disappointing, I stayed to do my yearly physical and complete blood work, and then the Dr. referred me to a gynecologist.
She was very friendly, a good listener, and a good communicator! Would see her again as a primary Dr.”

About Dr. Elizabeth August
Dr. Elizabeth August is a Family Practice doctor that cares for patients in our Hackensack office. Dr. August completed medical school at the American University of Antigua in 2009. Prior to joining Riverside in 2013, she completed her medical training at Hoboken University Medical Center, where she also served as the chief resident. Dr. August also worked for Kaplan Medical where she wrote study materials for medical board exams, including chapters in books and question banks for Kaplan.

Not interested in you at all; will do the basic/bare minimum; told her about my pain in the inguinal area for months and months, she pretty much ignored it. Went another time to the Hackensack location (she happen not to be there that day), and ended up seeing the nurse practitioner (Mona Aboulnaja). She was FANTASTIC, not just in knowledge...but bedside manners, interest, listening and communication skills, thoroughness, following up, advice, etc. She sent me to the GYN and for an ultrasound...turns out I have quite a few large fibroids unfortunately. I will now have to make a decision of whether to have them removed now or take care of them after childbirth. Very disappointed that such a young, beautiful (not that that matters), and I'm supposing intelligent woman since she is after all a doctor...could seem so bored with her profession, with life, and with her patients. My opinion is based on not just 1,2, 3, 4, but plenty of visits with her (and she has seen my mother as well). Her demeanor and lack of interest is always the same.

Great bedside manner. She knows how to approach delicate subjects and still make you feel like a valuable human being. I told my husband to go see her - that's how much i like her. Good enough for me and my loved ones. She's awesome.

The total appointment was about an hour, so longer than I thought it would be. It was a quick question, so I was hoping for an in and out appointment and instead I was late to my next appointment. The staff and doctor were very nice though, so I would go back. I just would have liked notice that the appointment would take so long.

Dr. August was amazing. Very kind and professional. Told her i was in for blood work and specialized testing. Trouble came with getting proper paperwork for my blood work. Had a physical on Tuesday, went back Wednesday to get the blood work done as I was sitting in the chair I was told I had to go directly to the lab. Went to the lab Wednesday and was told I was missing a special requisition I needed from the Dr. I called the office and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally got an office manager on the phone and was told I could pick up the paperwork Friday. Went to the office and they put blank forms in an envelope. When I asked them to complete the forms I was told only the lab tech should handle the forms and that the office manager and lab tech were gone. Not worth the hassle for such a simple task. I won't be returning.

Dr. Was great/awesome picked up on what the hospital didn't. And that's coming from someone who hates going to the doctor. But i guess she understood that. Explained my questions as needed (thorough). Did my blood work right in the office didn't have to leave and go further.
However ever since my appointment i haven't been notified of my blood work if there is anything that we were checking for should be a concern. I guess I will call when i get time . Oh and I had a fever that which the MA failed to inform me of whilst taking my vitals. She was brief and somewhat pleasant but needs to be more empathetic and approachable. I mean she is in the nursing field after all.

She's really great. Doesn't spend tons of time with each patient, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. She's patient, she listens, and she's to the point. Her care has been top notch. She's always smiling too!
The staff at the Hackensack office can be a little rude sometimes. Saddle Brook office is a little cleaner and nicer!

Overall positive. The wait was very long. I was 5 minutes late but i don't think that's cause for an hour delay. But the nurse was professional and the doctor was pleasant and I felt like she was actually listening to what i was saying. Overall this was a good visit.

I was very impressed with Dr. August's professionalism, her empathy, and her efficient but thorough examination. She answered all my questions and made me laugh while doing so! I also liked the nurse who brought me from the waiting area to the exam room. She was efficient but happy to chat a bit while taking my vitals, which made the process much more comfortable.
The only downside was the nurses at the check-in station when you first walk in. No one said hello, please, or thank you, nor did they return a smile when I offered one. I don't think anyone met my eye during the entire check-in process. Forms were shoved at me and I was brusquely waved away from the counter without being offered a pen. The entire check-in process was unwelcoming and made me apprehensive that the doctor would be equally brusque and uninterested, so Dr. August herself was a very pleasant surprise. She is worth putting up with sour check-in nurses and I will definitely keep her as my primary physician.

I was thrilled when I met Dr. August last Jan 2014 and thrilled to have a good doctor, who was kind, listened and I felt comfortable with. Then things went downhill about half way through the year. I felt she rushed through appointments, treated me like a child and disregarded my concerns. When I did go in she didn't even really examine me besides a brief conversation when my concerns were disregarded. When I had blood work done I had to call and track down the results, which was usually quite challenging. Plus the most recent time the test done wasn't what I'd expected to be done and it still didn't answer my concerns. And recently I called because I needed a medication refill and was told Dr. August was out sick and wouldn't be back for a week and was provided no alternatives to help get the medication and had to make other arrangements which was stressful since Dr. August already knew my needs. Something seemed to change over the year, maybe Dr. August got too busy now, maybe she is only good with new patients or patients who don't actually have real medical issues, I don't get it and it's disappointing. I would not recommend her.

The office is very well run. I have seen Dr. August twice now, and never wait longer than my appointment time. Its obvious that she cares about her patients and that the people that work for her care about the practice.

First of all the office staff is extremely rude they don't have the politeness to deal with patients. Secondly I had my blood results out and they just won't tell me over the phone if anything is wrong and said the reports are abnormal and doctor wants to see you. I booked the appointment same day and was so stressed till the appointment. Once doctor came to see me with the reports there was nothing wrong at all with very minor issues. Stay away from them. They are to money oriented.

I set an appointment for ZocDoc, called ahead to see if I could come in earlier, the ladies at the front desk said sure. I was checked in and immediately taken inside to see the doctor.
Dr. August was lovely. She listened to my concerns, prescribed what needed to be prescribed, and was very friendly. I think I finally have found a Doctor I can stick with it.
I highly recommend her.
