I’m a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner; I’m also a wife and a mom. Everything I do now I think to myself “my daughter is looking at me as her example of how to be a healthy human.” I understand firsthand the challenges that pregnancy can bring as well as the transition to postpartum and motherhood. For those with prior mental health conditions, there are extra nuances that must be considered and addressed. Some women also experience new onset mental health challenges for the first time during pregnancy/post-partum. If this sounds like you, reach out to me! Talk to someone who gets it.
Prior to becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I provided holistic nursing care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients as an RN, ensuring compassionate patient- and family-centered care. Treating children adds a whole new aspect of care in that you are working with the whole family. Kids need individualized attention that is different from most adults. Parents and caregivers also need to be heard and provided with effective mental health tools. I'm here to listen.
Providing trauma-informed, individualized care to diverse populations is the focus of my practice. This includes ADHD, learning disabilities, and other neurodivergent affirming care; Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, OCD, sleep disorders, geriatric care, perinatal/postpartum disorders and more. I believe in helping my patients facilitate their wellness through all the many chapters of their lives by building a therapeutic relationship that fosters growth and trust.
