About Dr. Elvira Callahan
Dr. Callahan obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Therapy from Canada’s acclaimed Concordia University. Upon graduation, she was recruited by the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Callahan completed her externships at the Veteran’s Hospitals of Los Angeles and Loma Linda. Her first year of residency training included primary podiatric medicine and orthopedics at the Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn and Queens. Dr. Callahan went on to study surgery at the Wyckoff Heights Medical center, an affiliate of the Cornell Weil Medical School.
Dr. Callahan is one of a handful of Podiatrists in New York State to be certified by both the American Board of Primary Podiatric Medicine and Orthopedics as well as the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. She also holds the titles of Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery as well as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Currently, in addition to her busy private practice, Dr. Callahan was a clinical attending at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center from 2000-2018. She enjoys instructing residents in Podiatric Medicine as well as the latest surgery techniques. Dr. Callahan is a member of the medical advisory board of the Queensborough Community College.
Dr. Callahan is fluent in both Russian and French and her dedicated staff is able to handle several other languages making it possible to treat a wide variety of patients.

I thoroughly read reviews. Lots of excellence. She may be great at what she does. She is so Kurt/short/abrupt/ in and out that even after PA brought her back 2nd time to answer questions I still couldn’t get all (4) questions out. I can get 1 or 2 before she’s out the door. Im not stating she doesn’t have skills in her craft. I’m just leaving still confused. They did make a mold of my foot and told me to go to pt. But she said, it’s nothing really, maybe tendinitis, but no I can’t go back to dance (which I know bc of pain). I went to front desk to all my 3rd question, what is this diagnosis in the xray report (urgent care and Lenox hill seemed to think it’s more). I was told to ask Lenox hill radiologist cause she didn’t see it.
Maybe it’s just her personality, maybe it’s my skin color… I don’t know. I waited until 2nd appt to review. I can’t say excellent yet. (Want to leave here and go straight to another doctor for more answers. But, they have sent in case for me. I don’t know.

Dr. Callahan is top notch. I had a total of 3 appointments with her to get rid of sizable plantar warts on both feet. It's been a week since my last appointment and I can finally walk comfortably. She patiently listened to my concerns, removed affected skin, treated + wrapped both feet, and gave me thorough guidelines for future prevention. The office was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, prepared, and had me into a room within a few minutes each visit. I highly recommend Dr. Callahan as your one and only podiatrist

Dr. Callahan was kind and attentive. She listened to me, answered all my questions and concerns, and then even revisited something when I was still having discomfort. She did something my previous podiatrist of 2 years never did-treat me like a person and react to what I the information I was relaying As a result, the source of the pain I'd been having for over a year, which my previous doctor kept telling me to "put lotion on", was removed. She made a plan and I will 100% be going back to see her. Also, the woman at the front desk and the tech who brought me in were very friendly and sweet as well.

I really like everybody that works here, the Dr is really down to earth and very knowledgeable and very professional. She fixed ?my broken toe right away. They were able to diagnose it immediately. They are able to take x-rays in the office which is amazing and they provided me with a shoe and with practical things to do to take care of my broken toe. ? She has also really helped my husband in the past with several problems that he has. I am so happy that I went to her this time instead of going to the emergency room and showing out a ton of money for nothing! She also has amazing availability.
