“I booked my appointment the day before and was initially worried they might not be able to see me, but everything worked out smoothly. Paperwork was sent the morning of the appointment and I completed it right away. Although we were meeting to discuss serious matters, the he kept the conversation lighthearted, easy, and comfortable, which helped put me at ease. He went above and beyond by helping coordinate therapy services during our visit and took the time to thoroughly answer my questions about new medication recommendations. I felt genuinely supported and cared for throughout the process. I look forward to continue working with Eric. ”

Getting to know Eric Yenchi
My name is Eric Kowshoh Yenchi, born in Cameroon, Central Africa, and raised in the small village of Babungo in the North West region. Growing up, access to healthcare was extremely limited, with only one health center staffed by a single nurse and a visiting doctor every two months. This dire situation, which led to the loss of many lives including my family members, fueled my determination to become a medical professional and improve healthcare in my community. I moved to the United States in 2006 and earned my bachelor's degree from West Virginia University Institute of Technology. I then completed my BSN in 2010 and began my nursing career in a long-term care facility. A visit to Cameroon in 2011 revealed the severe lack of mental health services, prompting me to become a psychiatric nurse. I earned my Master's in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and later completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at the University of Cincinnati. In 2013, I earned an MSN in Nursing Leadership. Volunteering at Babungo Integrated Mental Health Care (BIMEHC) in 2015 highlighted the critical shortage of mental health practitioners, inspiring me to further pursue my career in this field. Since then, I have held various positions in mental health, ultimately becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2019. My short-term goal is to continue serving my community, while my long-term aspiration is to establish my own practice.
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I prioritize creating a compassionate and supportive environment for my clients. You can expect a holistic approach to care, where your physical, emotional, and mental health are all considered. I believe in open communication and collaboration, ensuring you feel heard and involved in your treatment plan. My extensive experience in various mental health settings has equipped me with the skills to address diverse needs and challenges. I am committed to ongoing education and staying current with the latest advancements in mental health care to provide the best possible support. My goal is to empower you on your journey to mental wellness, offering personalized care tailored to your unique situation.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My typical process for working with clients begins with an initial consultation to understand your concerns, medical history, and goals for treatment. During this meeting, I take the time to listen carefully and ask questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation.
Following the initial consultation, I conduct a thorough assessment, which may include psychological evaluations and diagnostic tests, to identify any underlying issues. Based on this assessment, I develop a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy, medication management, lifestyle changes, and other interventions tailored to your specific needs.
Throughout our work together, I emphasize open communication and regular check-ins to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. I encourage feedback and collaboration to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported at every step.
Education is also a key component of my process. I provide information about your condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms to empower you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about your health.
Overall, my goal is to create a trusting and supportive partnership where you feel confident and motivated in your journey toward mental wellness.

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more
Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $250 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $150 for 30 minutes
Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
More information on payments and coverage
Understanding your insurance coverage and how we handle payments is important to ensure a smooth experience. Here’s how it works:
Insurance Coverage: We accept a variety of insurance plans. Before your first appointment, we will verify your insurance coverage and explain what services are covered under your plan. This includes co-pays, deductibles, and any out-of-pocket expenses you may be responsible for. If you have any questions about your coverage, our staff is here to help clarify the details.
Payment Processing: For each visit, we will bill your insurance directly. After the insurance processes the claim, you will be responsible for any remaining balance as determined by your insurance plan. Co-pays are typically collected at the time of service. We accept various forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and checks.
Assistance and Financial Options: We understand that medical expenses can be challenging. If you have financial difficulties, please let us know. We offer payment plans to help manage costs over time. Additionally, we can provide information on financial assistance programs that may be available to you.
Billing Inquiries: If you receive a bill and have questions about the charges, our billing department is available to assist you. They can explain the charges, help resolve any issues, and provide options if you need assistance with payments.
Our goal is to make the financial aspect of your care as transparent and stress-free as possible, allowing you to focus on your health and well-being.

Provider was a no show for appointment. It’s for mental health and very important. Called and left voicemail. Called a second time 10 minutes later. Called a third time. He picked up and shared that he was on vacation with children. Said it was urgent and he said we could talk tomorrow at same time which is too late for me. I need to see someone in the AM.

The doctor was very attentive to the issues at hand. He asked specific questions to further his diagnosis. He listened to patient explain the reason for visit and let the patient be as emotional as he wished in his explanation. He went over patient's current list of medications before prescribing game plan. He also let patient choose going forward about next appointment whether virtual or in-person and let patient choose whether to return for next visit with or without spouse .

I was feeling discouraged prior to this appointment based on past experiences with other providers. However, I’m very glad to have made the appointment. I was able to make an appointment and be seen the same day. I felt listened to and heard. I also feel that the options presented to me were appropriate and personalized to my situation. My experience during my initial appointment let me know that this provider is astute and knowledgeable. He was also very professional. I am looking forward to working with him more. I would encourage anyone who is considering an appointment to take a chance and see this provider.
