Hi, I'm Dr. Erica Strother, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, a doctorate-prepared, dual board-certified practitioner in Family Medicine and Psychiatry. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University at Buffalo (South Campus), completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at Mount Saint Mary College, and hold a Master's in Family Health Nursing from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. At Elysian Integrative Health and Wellness Group, we utilize an integrative holistic approach to treat both the bodies and minds of our clients. We are proficient in caring for adolescents, adults, and seniors, providing comprehensive healthcare to our patients.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, my scope of practice encompasses disease prevention, health promotion, diagnosis, and management of common medical and psychiatric conditions such as anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue, stress management, and more, treating both mind and body with convenient virtual visits. Our practice offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and talk therapy for individuals. We also provide care for medical conditions linked to mental health, including obesity, diabetes, chronic pain, and vitamin D deficiency. What is your typical process for working with clients?
At Elysian Integrative Health and Wellness Group, our process begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation, where we get to know you, understand your concerns, and review your medical and psychological history. In your first session, we’ll discuss what brought you in and set collaborative goals for treatment. For ongoing sessions, whether you’re meeting with our psychiatrists or a referred therapists, you can expect a supportive, confidential environment where you can talk openly about your thoughts and feelings. The diagnostic process may include a thorough discussion, psychological assessments, and, when appropriate, coordination with your other healthcare providers. In addition to medication management, we provide talk therapy and psycho-education as part of a holistic approach. Throughout your time with Elysian Integrative Health and Wellness Group, we’ll regularly review your progress and adjust treatment as needed, ensuring that your care is tailored to your unique needs and preferences.
