What should a new client know about working with you?

My job is to help you feel understood and to build a plan that actually fits real life. I combine careful medication management with practical skills you can use the same day. Sessions are collaborative, judgment-free, and paced so you never feel rushed. You don’t have to present a “perfect story.” If your thoughts race, you lose focus, your mood swings, you’re not sleeping, or you’re simply not sure how to explain what’s going on—that’s okay. I’ll ask clear, kind questions and we’ll map things out together. My approach: human-first, not label-first; use diagnoses to inform care, not define you. If meds are needed, we start low and go slow, adjusting based on benefits and side effects. Care is evidence-based and practical, combining medication with skills (sleep hygiene, ERP for anxiety/OCD, brief mood tools). I use a whole-person lens—sleep, hormones, thyroid, GI, pain, and nutrition matter. We make shared decisions, so you always understand the why, the options, and the trade-offs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What it’s like to work with me: Thanks for considering care with me.. My goal is simple: help you feel heard, understood, and supported while we build a plan that actually fits your life. First things first: booking & saying hello: You can book online or call—whatever’s easiest. If you’re not sure I’m the right fit, send a short note about what you’re hoping to work on (anxiety, mood, sleep—anything). I’ll be honest about whether I can help and, if not, point you in the right direction. If you have a medication list or recent labs, bring them along. If not, no stress; we’ll figure it out together. Our first visit: Think of the first appointment as a conversation, not an interrogation. I’ll ask about what’s going on now, what you’ve tried, what helped (or didn’t), and what a “good month” would look like. We’ll talk about sleep, stress, medical factors, and the parts of life that matter most to you. By the end, you’ll leave with a plan that’s clear and doable—maybe a small medication adjustment, a few practical tools, or a request for labs or therapy support. You’ll also know how to reach me for non-urgent questions and exactly what to do if something urgent comes up. How we make decisions: We decide together. I’ll explain the “why,” the benefits, the side effects, and the alternatives—in plain language. If medication makes sense, we start low and go slow, and we measure whether it’s helping. If you prefer a skills-first approach, we’ll design that. Your preferences guide the plan. Between visits: You can message me with brief questions——and we’ll sort it out. If something new or complex pops up, we’ll set a visit so you get unhurried time and attention. For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest ER; send me an update afterward so we can follow up.
