About Dr. Gary Lee
Dr. Gary Lee graduated from the University of California-Irvine College of Medicine in 1994. He completed a residency in Dermatology at UC Irvine in 1998. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American Society for Moh's Surgery. He is a member of the Orange County Medical Association, and was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at UC-Irvine.
Dr. Lee received his PhD in Heterocyclic Chemistry from the University of Oxford, England in 1983. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Natural Product Synthesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1985. He was a Principal Scientist in novel drug research for psoriasis at Allergan Inc., Irvine from 1986-1990, and has over 60 scientific publications and patents.

Dr. Lee did not have any interest in hearing about my skin history or treatments I’ve tried that were unsuccessful. He looked at my skin with his bare eyes for less than 10 seconds, asked why I wanted to see him and told me I will never look better unless I take pills (he wouldn’t specify what he was prescribing). He told me he was prescribing three medications and I told him I was interested in trying a different route prior to trying medication; he told me there’s no other way since “acne is a disease and needs medicine.” He rushed me out of his office after I told him I wasn’t interested in taking medications one last time and when I got home I was notified that he put in a request for the prescription medication anyway. Thanks for not caring at all Dr. Lee!

Did not want to listen to me at all. Just kept interrupting and saying there was nothing they could do. Any questions I asked were responded with “you’d have to look that up yourself” he was completely closed off and monotone the entire time he spoke to me.

Was seen immediately after finishing my new patient paperwork. Dr. Lee explained to me on how to take better care of my skin (I have a family history of eczema). I also have a lot of suspicious looking moles and had a few biopsied. Received a phone call within 10 business days with the results - all benign, thank goodness. Will definitely be recommending my family members to this office. Very through with his skin check and is brutally honest with all questions I had.
