“He is a terrific surgeon and changed my life for the much better with his exceptional skill. All appointments prior to this one were fine, he took some time which allowed me to ask questions. This time however was different. I saw a resident and med student first, not a very quality experience. I saw Bandi for what seemed like three minutes, maybe it was five. It was a rush through and not very reassuring practice from my point of view. We made another appointment which I cancelled. I left a urine sample and never got the results. He was much better than this in the past. I hope this is not the new Dr. Bandi.”

About Dr. Gaurav Bandi
Gaurav Bandi is a compassionate and dedicated urologist who has been practicing in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area since 2009. Dr. Bandi earned his medical degree at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore, where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He completed his internship in general surgery at Wayne State University, Detroit Receiving Hospital, followed by a residency in urology at Wayne State University. He then pursued a fellowship in minimally invasive urology (endourology and robotic surgery) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Bandi has published several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in various medical journals. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a member of the American Urological Association and the Endourologic Society. He serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at Georgetown University, where he regularly teaches medical students, interns, and residents. Dr. Bandi has been chosen as a "Top Doctor" by Washingtonian magazine and has been felicitated by the Archdiocese of Washington for his work with Catholic Charities.
Dr. Bandi exhibits his passion for urology in the care and precision he takes with his patients. He believes in practicing evidence-based medicine while minimizing the costs of health care delivery. His consultations are consistently precise and thorough. Dr. Bandi has a special interest in the minimally invasive management of urologic conditions using advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, endourologic, and cryoablation techniques. He is an expert in the management of disorders related to the prostate, including prostate cancer and BPH. He has an interest in the early detection of prostate cancer using novel biomarkers and MRI-guided fusion biopsies, as well as in active surveillance and minimally invasive management of prostate cancer, including focal therapy and ablation using cryotherapy and high-intensity focused ultrasound.

Seems knowledgeable, but kept suggesting that he could perform additional tests even though I had clearly indicated already having had those tests performed. Did not ask many follow up questions, and when he determined it might not be in his scope of specialty, was not any help in even recommending what else I could look into or consider. Still have certain symptoms that have been ongoing, but his attitude was simply "I don't know."

Did not feel welcomed when greeted. He was very quick with the examination and was not thorough. Did not bother to look closer at my issues, rather glanced at it. His suggestions were not helpful. Will not repeat. Front office staffs were also not very organized with paperwork which was frustrating.

Dr. Bandi is not responsive to patient questions and prefers to waste time charging for office visits not relevant to patient care. I couldn't get a simple response about what next steps are for a month and eventually just gave up.
I work in healtcare quality and process improvement consulting. The practice is simply trying to get as much money through high volume as possible.
