About Dr. Geeta Sharma

Pure OBGYN is affiliated with Mount Sinai West and NYU Langone. Dr. Geeta Sharma is a highly respected and experienced Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialist. After growing up in Rochester, NY she played soccer at Haverford College where she majored in Molecular Biology and graduated with High Honors. Dr. Sharma attended Medical School at Weill Cornell and continued training there for her OBGYN residency and then fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. In addition, she enhanced her ultrasound training at CHOP (PA), Kings College (UK), CRIFM (Osaka, Japan), and Sardinia (IT). Practicing over two decades in NYC, Dr. Sharma has served on faculty at Columbia, Cornell, Mount Sinai, and NYU Medical Centers. Most recently, she served as the Co-Director of NYU’s Maternal Care List, coordinating care for the health system’s most complex patients. She is known for combining academic evidence-based medicine with compassionate care, addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of maternal health. Her patients value her thoroughness, empathy, warm demeanor and ability to communicate complex medical information clearly.
