About Dr. George Nicolopoulos
Dr. George M. Nicolopoulos graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic Magna Cum Laude. In his time in Iowa Dr. George was highly active both inside and outside of the classroom taking various seminars and lecture series. While a student Dr. George spent three weeks in the country of Fiji working within their current health care system to provide treatment and health screenings to underprivileged children and adults at no cost to the patient. Dr. George considers this to be one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.
Near the end of his graduate school career Dr. George was one of ten students across all Chiropractic colleges to be chosen to work with the Department of Defense on an active military base. He treated pilots, mechanics and other military personnel stationed at Lemoore Naval Base located in Lemoore California. He worked hand in hand with some of the highest trained medical doctors and physical therapists in the country. While there he learned a multitude of different methodologies to treat both acute and chronic patients utilizing the best available research on each condition and continues to do so in everyday practice.
Dr. George is an expert when it comes to the diagnosis, treatment and management of all varieties of musculoskeletal conditions. He is also part of the 1% of Chiropractors credentialed in McKenzie Therapy: Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy. He focuses on post surgical work from what he learned when with the Navy, athletic injuries which he treats as a sideline physician at various lifting and sporting events, and the average joe. Dr. George prides himself in learning something new with each and every patient he treats.

I must clearly state that what I'm about to say may seem like hyperbole, but it 100% is not: my first visit with Dr. George Nicolopoulos was the single-best experience I have had - with ANY type of doctor - in my life. Ever. Period. Not one HINT of feeling rushed. Knowledge and compassion flowed from him with ease. I left that first appointment (literally and figuratively) walking taller and feeling more positive about my condition than I ever have. I could not recommend this man more highly and I look forward to many more visits.

I love George! I took my dad to see him several times for his back problems. My dad is very resistant to seeking help and was a difficult patient in the sense he was not following his instruction to complete the stretches he advised. George explained that his goal is to not have him come back for more appointments and understand the seriousness of his responsibility in his health.
I also saw George once for my own back issue previously and I only had 1 appointment. I followed his instruction on stretches to perform at home and never had to return. My back problem was resolved with one appointment.

I've visited Dr. George a few times and have always left feeling much better than when I arrived. George is very practical in his advice and sets realistic expectations as to what to expect in the days following an appointment. Honestly, I hate going to places that seem super professional and just unwelcoming. Dr. George's office is really laid back and he's just HUMAN. I have severe back pain due to a sports injury and have been seeking relief for years, I'm so happy I found Dr. Nicolopoulos.
Meeting with Dr. Nicolopoulos was such a wonderful experience. His bedside manner and knowledge made me feel extremely secure that I had made the right decision, it felt like I was being treated by a friend. Dr. Nicolopoulos really took the time to listen, and ended up giving me an excellent course of treatment that has really relieved my symptoms.
Part of that treatment includes sessions with Kevin Carter the Massage Therapist on staff. Kevin is amazing, and one of the best therapists I have ever visited. He is personable, and makes me feel so much better, I definitely feel it when i miss a treatment with Kevin.
Overall I can not recommend Dr. Nicolopoulos and Mr. Carter enough, they are the reason I can now walk without pain.

Dr. George Nicolopoulos at Spine and Sports Center is fantastic. At my first appointment a few months ago I could barely function due to some pretty severe back pain and within a few sessions I felt almost back to normal. I have been seeing chiropractors my entire life so I'm used to it but I am sure that anyone new to the therapy would feel completely comfortable in Dr. George's care. The other nice element to the practice is that they don't expect you to come in every week once you're feeling better - just periodically for maintenance. I would highly recommend this practice, and especially Dr. George, to anyone looking for chiropractic care.

I went to visit Dr. George after hearing good things about Spine and Sports Center from friends. Most importantly, I came in with an aching lower back and I left feeling 100% (after only a few visits).
I had been seeing a chiro previously for this issue, but it was not getting better. From the start, I knew I made the right choice when set up an appointment with Dr. George. All the staff is very helpful, and they had a process to get the insurance info figured out before I even walked in. They are very organized and professional, and everything about this process went very smoothly. The care from Dr. George was excellent as well. He had come to a similar conclusion when diagnosing my problem, but his treatment approach was much different. He is very focused on educating the patient (me). Also, he tries to minimize the amount of adjustments and only performs what is necessary. The rest of the care was up to me between visits. Within a couple weeks and three visits, I was feeling great! I haven't had any issues since, and the best part of the process, I now know how to help myself if I start to feel any further pain.
I highly recommend a visit with Dr. George and Spine and Sports Center if you're feeling any sort of pain. They are great with athletes and fitness minded people. I never had to stop working out, and I couldn't be happier with the results!

I injured my lower back at the gym and reached out to George on the recommendation of my coach. Though he made himself available that afternoon, I went to see George the next morning where he was able to very accessibly explain what my injury was (bulging disk) and how it likely happened. As well, he explained to me how we were going to go about treating my injury and what recovery would involve. I walked in there looking like Lego man assembled by a blind two year old but a handful of office visits and some homework to do on my own later and George has taken me from a disjointed Lego figure to a fully functional human. I can not recommend George and Spine and Sports Center of Chicago enough. I hope I never have to see George professionally again, but if (when) I do, I know I'll be well taken care of.

I woke up with some pretty serious pain in my neck and shoulder area and knew I needed to see someone that day. My coach at my gym told me to call George at Spine and Sports Center. George was thankfully able to see me within the hour of me reaching out to him. An additional plus is that George also attends my Crossfit gym so he was aware of the activities I had been doing and how to help me get back to being pain free. When I first went in I was in a decent amount of pain and wasn't really sure how things would go. However, George was incredibly reassuring, and explained things thoroughly each and every appointment. I was feeling back to myself before I knew it!

Dr. George is the best! I couldn't have asked for a better experience when I came to see him for my lower back pain. He took the time to walk me through every stretch and to explain his reasoning behind them all (you'll love his analogies). He was always happy to answer my questions, and I could tell he really cared about getting me back on my feet as soon as possible. With him, I never felt like just another patient. Scheduling was also very easy and every appointment was productive and effective.
