George Roepke is a mindful and skilled family physician based in Chicago, IL. Dr. Roepke earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Illinois, Chicago, Saint Joseph Hospital. Dr. Roepke is a part of AMITA Health Medical Group. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Roepke enjoys giving back to his community and has participated in many volunteer activities, including serving as an Ambulatory Resident Physician at Community Health Clinic through June 2012 to June 2015 and also volunteered at Physician Seton Family Health Medical Tent in August 2015. Dr. Roepke is committed to helping his patients enjoy a healthier lifestyle. He works with each one to discuss ways they can make better choices for their health. I started coming to this office to see Dr. Tom Klein, saw him for almost twenty plus years, then Dr. Evan Wikke was his replacement, it was confusing the way this abrupt change was handle. Dr Wikke was very good but moved one, I’ve meet Dr. Roepke before when Dr Klein wasn’t available. Like him and his manner very much. I hope AMG will do what’s necessary to keep him there.
The office staff has always been absolute considerate and charming, even during the height of COVID. Seeing Dr Roethke was a pleasure, and I feel in good hands.

Sometimes the best medicine is kindness and understanding. You see, sometimes I have difficulty with small, stuffy spaces. For some reason the office was unusually warm the day of my last visit, and as soon as the nurse closed the door, I started having a panic attack. I didn't really understand what was happening because I hadn't had an attack in such a long time... The tears and difficulty breathing started happening so quickly I couldn't hid it from my doctor... I kept apologizing for my tears and behavior... He said, "so how have you been lately?"... And I replied, I think I'm having a panic attack...The doctor opened the door wide and went to the nurses right away and they gave me a big fan and told me to take off my mask. It really helped! Even the woman at the front desk came to see if I was okay. I'm so thankful for the doctors and staff at Ascension, they treat the whole person not just the medical condition. Words can't really express how grateful I am. Thank you
The timeliness of the office
Since Dr. Klein retired, Dr. Roepke has overseen my health care. I couldn’t be more content. And Debbie at the front has been understanding, patient, kind, knowledgeable, and just all around great for… hell, it’s been some time.
The office staff is excellent. From checking in, phone calls answered promptly and checkout. Just great service and respect. The nurses are always courageous and knowledgeable. Dr. Roepke is a good listener and always responds to my questions in a prompt manner. He’s outstanding.
I felt great interest in my well-being
Dr. Roepke is the best doctor I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in several cities! He even set me up with amazing specialists in my network who have really helped me. The whole ascensions team has been outstanding from the receptionist, to the nurse, lab technician, and even Toni in billing! Incredible caring team and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you!
