“My fiancé and I recently had a consultation session with Ms.Ortiz and we both left feeling incredibly positive and hopeful. She was warm, attentive, and made it easy for us to open up and feel comfortable from the start. Even in just one session, it was clear that she’s highly experienced and that couples therapy is truly her area of expertise. She asked thoughtful questions, really listened to our concerns and goals, and provided valuable insights that helped us feel more aligned and understood. We appreciated how thorough and timely she was—professional while still being kind and approachable. We’re very much looking forward to working with her more closely as we continue this journey together. It already feels like a great fit, and we’re so glad to have found her.”

Getting to know Giselle Ortiz

You and your partner keep having the same fight in different forms. One of you may shut down, while the other gets frustrated trying to get a response. Over time, the distance between you grows, and then you're left wondering, why does it feel so hard to feel close with my partner? I am a private pay provider specializing in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), a proven approach that helps couples break free from cycles causing you both to feel disconnected and instead guides you toward creating a more secure, deeply loving bond. Our work together isn't about assigning blame or just only learning practical communication tips, my work with couples go deeper than that. We will take a deep dive into finding the root of your conflicts and then completely reshaping the way you turn to each other in a way that will move you THROUGH and PAST your issues, and not just staying STUCK in the repeated troubled cycle. I hold 2 Master's degrees in the field, 6 years of experience, and specialized training in working with couples, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge in helping many couples achieve their goals throughout my years. My goal for every couple I work with is to get you to your goals and then close services having you feel confident and fulfilled in your growing relationship. If you both feel ready to stop feeling stuck and start feeling secure in your relationship, where there is trust, understanding, intimate connection, and feeling supported between one another, even in difficult moments, I am here to help! The first step is to book a free 20-minute consultation video call with me by scheduling through Zocdoc. To begin Couples Counseling services, both of you will need to be present at the initial consultation, so please discuss availabilities with your partner before choosing and booking a time through Zocdoc.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in creating a nonjudgmental, safe space where the both of you have a voice. Whether you are facing challenges in your current relationship and would like to pursue couples counseling or are just looking to explore your overall relationship patterns and wish to embark on the path of individual counseling instead, I can work with you to explore understanding your emotions more, assisting you in how you can express them, heal from past wounds, improving your overall self confidence and break from from negative relationship patterns. My sessions are structured to provide emotional insight, practical strategies on how to navigate emotions, and space for supportive growth. I strive to empower my clients in forming the loving and connecting relationships with 1. themselves and 2. with others. It all first begins with just setting up our first consultation call.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First step: scheduling a brief 20 minute consultation call that will allow us to first explore what brings you to therapy, how I can be of help, answer any questions you may have, discuss any logistical questions in regard to starting services and most importantly, to determine if emotionally focused therapy is the best approach to meet your needs. After a completed consultation call we will set up our first full session appointment for a later mutual date. Typically I am able to book follow-up sessions within a one week time frame. Our first few weekly sessions will give us the opportunity to build rapport, for me to get to know you better and/or partner better, and for us to develop a personalized treatment plan. Whether you are seeking support couples or individual counseling sessions, your treatment plan will be tailored to what you wish to work on at this time.
