Dr. Berkowitz is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, total joint arthroplasty, and fracture and trauma care. He has a special interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the knee, shoulder and hip as well as advanced fracture treatments and general orthopedics.
Dr. Berkowitz has been practicing Orthopedics for 17 years in the Freehold area. He frequently brings back the latest information and techniques from seminars and hands-on-courses and is familiar with the latest treatments for athletic injuries. He has been featured in Healthy Direction publications, has been seen interviewed on local TV and enjoys his teaching opportunities with the Family Practice residents of the CSMC Robert Wood Johnson program, students in the Freehold Boro High School Medical Sciences program, as well as teaching bone health and anatomy to elementary school children and the community. Dr. Berkowitz’ main objective is to get you back to your optimum lifestyle whether that includes competitive athletics, recreational pursuits, or achieving a pain free quality of life. When not working, you will find Dr. Berkowitz in multiple basketball leagues around town or running in local races with his family. He also enjoys golf, skiing, snowboarding and watching his children’s teams compete.
