About Dr. Gregory Nikolaidis
Gregory A. Nikolaidis, MD is a Board Certified Dermatologist. After attending Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Dr. Nikolaidis completed a residency in Dermatology at the University of California, San Diego.
In 2002, Dr. Nikolaidis founded Westlake Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery in Austin. The practice has grown from a solo practice to a multi-specialty group practice comprised of five locations, 11 physicians (nine dermatologists, one plastic surgeon, one allergist) and four physician assistants. He has received numerous awards and honors for achievement and has presented at national and international meetings including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the European FACES Conference. Dr. Nikolaidis is a Fellow of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Dermatology Foundation Leaders Society, the American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Nikolaidis serves as a Botox® Cosmetic Black Diamond Level National Education Faculty Member, and he has additionally trained numerous physicians on Sculptra Aesthetic, Radiesse, Restylane, and other non-invasive procedure techniques. He has served as a consultant for Solta Medical and Cutera on development and clinical research on various lasers and was among the first cosmetic surgeons in the United States to offer Smartlipo laser body contouring.

In short, Dr. Nikolaidis is fantastic!
The longer version: For at least 15 years, I’ve been a patient at Westlake Dermatology. I found them while searching for a dermatologist to help me with hormonal acne. I’ve visited multiple WD locations for both medical and cosmetic appointments. And I’ve met a diverse group of talented, knowledgeable doctors and employees who consistently recommended excellent products.
However, I’ve continued to book with Dr. Nik, because I never forgot the kindness and patience he showed me when I was a kid struggling with hormonal acne. Since I was 10–11 years old, acne has been an off-and-on issue for me. It was a source of contention during my childhood because most dermatologists (and classmates) treated me as if I was doing something wrong, like I neglected to take proper care of my skin. Even when I expressed that I had PCOS. Dermatologists were still very insensitive to my struggle, and I always left their offices feeling worse. Fortunately, I finally found my way to Westlake Dermatology and met Dr. Nik, a physician that didn’t shame me for having acne. Dr. Nik also believed me that I had PCOS, and didn’t try to force me to prove my official diagnosis from an OBGYN… Soon after I started a new regimen, my acne improved significantly! In the past, I had already tried various options like topicals, pills, tretinoins, Accutane, facials, and other miscellaneous treatments. But what set Dr. Nik apart was his ability to make the right adjustments and provide me with simple, customized suggestions tailored to my specific needs. Once I was able to manage my acne on my own, with the help of Dr. Nik and my nutritionist, I started to seek out cosmetic procedures like Fraxel, IPL, DiamondGlows, microneedling, and etc..
I have a lot of trust in Dr. Nik when it comes to cosmetic procedures. My skin is sensitive from all the years of acne medications. I’m hesitant to trust many people with my face. However, I have complete confidence in Dr. Nik. He’s not only highly intelligent and skilled in his field as a doctor, but Dr. Nik is also a kind and empathetic human being.
My facial skin didn’t always look as beautiful and healthy as it does now, and it’s amazing that I get so many compliments on my skin, after so many years struggling with acne. Thank you to Dr. Nik and his staff!
