Patient reviews for Dr. Hampson A. Sisler
Great doctor with great service
Dr. Sisler is definitely a personality - some patients will be more amenable than others to the quirky office decor and old school techniques. But he will be my go-to eye doctor from now on. He has a half century of experience and does the job because he loves it. He is a get-things-done kind of doctor and treated my eye right away. 24 hours later and my condition is subsiding just as he told me it would. Make sure to ask questions if you’re unsure what’s going on-he’s more than willing to tell you.
Dr. Sisler was very helpful and very informative. The office manager Gene, was amazing and patient service was 10/10. Looks like I found myself an eye doctor that I will be sticking with for quite some time.
A very experienced and thorough ophthalmologist. He performs his eye exams in an old school and meticulous fashion, not something you see often these days. Quite pleasant to chat with as well. Would recommend.
Office was friendly and doctor was knowledgeable. I had no wait time really. This was my first vision exam in years and they laid it out for me.
Dr. Sisler was amazing! He talks with you as though you are an old friend. His attempts to make you feel comfortable are achieved through his jokes and friendly demeanour. He, also, finds your eye prescriptions through the “old fashioned” method which is simply not using the machine to find your lenses. Dr. Sisler has over 55 years of experience in his field and can prove to be an inspiration to any interested in medicine.
Dr Sisler and his office manager, Gene, could not have been nicer! They were patient and helpful and I had the most thorough eye exam of my life. Thanks!
Very friendly and professional
During my first visit with Dr. Sisler, I found him to be very friendly and patient. He took the time to explain to me what was going on with my eyes and also gave me a timeline of what to expect. I felt comfortable in the office and also was given thorough instructions on what to do in between our sessions. I felt like I could reach out if I ever needed any help or had questions regarding my condition. After our first visit, I continued going to him and am always treated nicely every time I am there.
Gene at the reception desk is wonderful, as is Dr. Sissler. I came in because of a concern with a spot on my eye, and Dr. Sissler quickly decided he would remove it, without really informing me of what it was or inquiring how it might have gotten there. He gave me eye numbing drops without any warning and began the procedure. He came towards my eye with an instrument resembling a scalpel. I was alarmed and so I finally asked him what he was doing. He said he was removing a foreign body and continued. The procedure hurt and was fairly traumatizing. I wish he had further prepared me for what to expect. Also all payments must be cash or check. No credit is accepted. I won't be returning to the practice.
This is a very outdated office. He uses no technology, he did not warn me that eye drops burned. My eyes were dialated for way too long after the appointment.
Excellent consultation. Highly recommend this doctor.
I was very impressed, from the reception area to seeing Dr Sisler.. very humble through n experienced. Definitely keeping my follow-up appt..oh and very personable... Gene ,receptionist., excellent personality n very patient. Keep up the great job u guys....
Great experience! they saw me earlier than scheduled and were very nice and quirky in the office. Very happy with my experience and would recommend highly to anyone else
GREAT! Best optometrist experience in my 15 years of visits elsewhere.
Dr. Sisler quickly and accurately diagnosed my eye problem, and the medication he prescribed me resolved my problem in a few days, exactly as he told me.
I had a wonderful time with Doctor Sisler. He is knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly.
His assistant, Gene, is very helpful and friendly. The doctor made me feel better right away. He came to see me on a holiday when no one else was available and I was very uncomfortable and in need of an ophthalmologist right away. He was the only one working in New York City! The doctor takes cash or check only which is a little inconvenient. He does not take most insurance, but they helped me to file of network partial reimbursement, and I would still consider returning in spite of this because if how helpful they were and how much better I felt.
He was personable and welcoming. Very professional and informative.
HE is a wonderful doctor. Very thorough and he listens very careful to all of my symptoms.
I was looking for someone professional with a warm bedside manner and I got that in Dr. Sisler. The exam was thorough and there was no rush. Simply perfect!
