About Dr. Peter Berg

This service is not included with exam or covered by medical insurance. *We do not offer contact lens exams. *We ask you do not drive to your appointment as your eyes may be dilated. If you wear contacts, please remove 24hrs prior to your appointment and/or ASAP. Dr. Berg specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, in which he is fellowship trained. His SUNY Downstate clinical and teaching activities are focused primarily at University Hospital of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn VA. His current clinical and research interests include pterygium excision with free conjunctival graft, dermoid and epidermoid tumors of the orbit, familial euryblepharon and megaloblepharon, and the use of CO2 laser in congenital lymphangioma involving the orbit. Dr. Berg also has a hospital appointment at Kingsbrook Hospital Center. He is president of SUNY Downstate Ophthalmology Alumni, and director of its scientific symposium. Dr. Berg graduated with his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed residency training at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania/SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Doctor was very rough during examination. Dilated my eyes and provided no protective shades afterwards to keep my eyes safe. Eyes were left burning as soon as I walked outside into the sun. I was warned to avoid the sun but I couldn’t because it was a sunny day which is why they should provide protective gear after someone has their eyes dilated. AND they didn’t properly take AmidaCare as insurance so I had to pay out of pocket.
