About Dr. Harsha Reddy

Dr. Reddy is a specialist in ophthalmic plastic surgery, a field that involves aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, eye socket (orbit), and tear duct system. He has special expertise in age-related changes of the eyelids and surrounding tissues, eyelid and tear duct trauma, and peri-ocular tumors. Dr. Reddy strives to understand each patient as a person, to communicate clearly about all the available options, and to provide compassionate, individualized medical and surgical care.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard University and completed internal medicine training at the University of Hawai‘i. Dr. Reddy then pursued a residency in ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute, followed by a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Washington.
Dr. Reddy is passionate about expanding knowledge in his field through teaching and research. His publications include numerous peer-reviewed articles, and he has presented at international scientific conferences. He has also served overseas on medical trips to Nepal and Ethiopia. He continues to be actively involved in resident education as a full-time faculty member of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Reddy is wonderful. Can’t recommend him enough. Only slight complaint is that I used to be seen at the time of appointment and the past few times there have been some moderate to significant wait times.

Dr. Reddy is my favorite doctor of any kind. He really cares about his patients and you can tell as much as he listens to your concerns and answers your questions. The treatment I receive is always top notch and he discusses options and let’s you make informed decisions about your own health. In my approximately 8 years of seeing Dr. Reddy, I think only once was the wait in the office an issue (the appointment I’m writing the review for), and I believe it was due to a backlog caused by an emergency. I’d gladly take that once every 8 years to have a doctor as great as Dr. Reddy.

Very nice Dr. It turned out he didn't specialize in punctal plugs even though I booked the appointment because his staff told me he did so it was a wasted visit. He referred me to his colleague instead of treating me but he was very nice and if I need his specialty in the future I would be happy to book with him again

I went to see Dr. Reddy last year for the same reason(eye sty). He treated me and it went away!
I have another eye sty again on my right eyelid. It was more swollen and more red like a golf ball while I am 6 month pregnant. Dr. Reddy was very patient, helpful and professional with his treatments he offered me. He took his time to call my OBGYN doctor to ensure I can receive those treatments before he proceeded. We were waiting in his exam room for my OBGYN to call back almost an hour since I needed to get it done that day. I had a job interview which I couldn't show up looking like a monster. Dr. Reddy was very understanding and patient. I am so grateful for it. After the treatment I received that day, my eye sty got much better. Thanks to Dr. Reddy!! Highly recommended!

Dr. Reddy was terrific. He answered my numerous questions with patience. I liked the way he explained things -- in a simple, easy to understand way. Dr. Reddy was kinder and more helpful than most doctors I've encountered.
A technician named Michelle did some of the preliminary checks on me. She was thorough and approachable as well.
The office is also really nice and close to the subway.

After doing a careful and extensive exam, Dr. Reddy explained the cause of my condition and treatment options in detail. He spent a lot of time answering my questions. This doctor is very attentive and clearly cares about his patients. Highly recommend.

My experience was very frustrating. This was probably the most unorganized doctor's office I've ever been in. I had my records from my previous doctor faxed in the day before and they couldn't find them. I found the staff rude. They did not explain the purpose and objectives of the appointment. I thought I was getting a contact exam then found out after the fact that they didn't even give me a contact exam or update my contact prescription. Not really sure what I paid for.

Everyone was very professional and thorough - this is definitely my eye doctor going forward. The office is pristine. Dr. Reddy was very gentle and spent a good amount of time with me talking through my eye issues and offering solutions. A really great experience overall.

Extremely thorough, knowledgeable and engaged. Seems to be a caring and thoughtful professional. Accessible, answers all questions directly and completely. Spends a lot of time (several hours) examining and testing, then carefully evaluates the data before recommending treatment plan. Will get a second opinion, but highly inclined to have Dr. Reddy treat me.
