About Dr. Heather Hensley
Heather Hensley, DO, is a board-certified dermatologist dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care at Skin Care Specialists in Tempe and Scottsdale, Arizona. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Hensley combines her extensive medical training with a personalized approach to help patients achieve healthier, more confident skin. Dr. Hensley began her career in healthcare with a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Oklahoma in Norman and practiced as a physical therapist before pursuing her medical degree. She graduated from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, earning recognition as Student Doctor of the Year and an induction into the prestigious Omega Beta Iota honor society. After completing her internship at Oklahoma State University Medical Center, Dr. Hensley pursued advanced training with a residency in radiology before finding her passion in dermatology. She completed her dermatology residency at PCOM in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in skin cancer prevention and the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. As a sought-after speaker, Dr. Hensley lectures nationally on innovative dermatological treatments and serves as a consultant for CeraVe. She is also an active member of leading organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD). When she's not in the clinic, Dr. Hensley enjoys exploring Arizona's natural beauty with her family and golden retriever, Simon. A lifelong fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, she embraces her roots while bringing her expertise and warmth to the Valley.

We had to wait a bit for this appointments. They apologized and explained that they’d had a surgery earlier in the day that ran longer than expected. The doctor was very personable and seemed to be very thorough from tips of toes to heads and scalps. Good visit. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a Dermatologist.

Check-in process was easy & welcoming, didn’t get into exam room until 15 - 20 mins after my scheduled time, but Dr. Hensley & her assistant were amazing and nothing but professional - having never been to a dermatologist they made me feel very comfortable.

Dr Heather was very friendly and really helpful! She listened to my problems and offered me the solution and also pointed out other issues i had with my scalp and suggested medication to solve those as well! She’s an amazing dermatologist!
