Heather Mooneyhan is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife currently practicing at Vitale Women’s Health OBGYN. She found her way into nursing by wanting to change the perspective of health professionals in ways that Patch Adams did by treating people and not just diseases. She is driven to spread joy and laughter and went into women’s health to bring that same energy to a specialty area that has a stigma for being uncomfortable and awkward. Heather has shared many precious moments with women during some of the biggest milestones of their lives and has had the joy to continue that relationship with them in the office setting. Heather is very thankful to have found a practice with Dr. Vitale that allows her to bring women the care and sensitivity they deserve.
Heather received her Master’s in Nursing at Georgetown University and then interned for a year with a midwife group learning to bring babies into the world with a gentle and intimate approach. Even though delivering babies was an extraordinarily memorable experience for her, she is now a full-time Nurse Practitioner in the office where she focuses on seeing women of all ages and educating on numerous topics such as contraception management and menopausal symptom relief.
Heather was born and raised a Floridian, which is where she originally received her nursing training as a “Gator” at the University of Florida. Even though she prefers the warm weather, she decided to embark on a new adventure with her husband and Border-Collie pup and spread her knowledge and compassion to women here in the Northeast.

One of the best ob-gyn's I have ever been to. The office is beautiful, clean, and very modern. The technology is up to date. I recently left my old OB-GYN because I was unhappy with the way the office ran things and I am so glad I switched! Dr. Mooneyhan listened to my issues more than anyone else ever has. She had an answer for everything, she made me feel so comfortable and I was not afraid to open up about any of the issues I was going through. She explained things to me more clearly than any doctor ever has. She took her time and never made me feel rushed, she was pleasant and polite. The rest of the staff in the office was great as well, they all made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Going to the OB-GYN is never a pleasant experience for anyone and I have always hated going, but I have to say I am actually excited for my next visit because Dr. Mooneyhan was such a delight. If you are looking for someone new definitely see her!
