About Heidi McClain
Since becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 2015, I have been providing care to patients in primary care, weight management, and the Emergency Department setting. Prior to that, I spent 15 years working as a nurse in both the Emergency Department and Intensive Care settings. I received my master’s degree in Family Nursing and post-master’s Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Northern Illinois University. My experience has given me an impeccable knowledge base in managing many complex health conditions.
I am passionate about delivering quality care to my patients. I strive to treat the whole person and enjoy spending time educating patients about their health. Health and wellness require both patient and provider to work together to treat conditions while actively engaging in disease prevention.
While medicine is important, my goal is for my patients to feel comfortable and trusting in my care. I believe kindness and compassion are integral parts of healing people.

Definitely would recommend Heidi McClain. We have the same philosophy about medical care and it’s refreshing to have someone on the same page with you. She (and Dr Nance) don’t default straight to medications like other doctors.

Would not recommend. This nurse practitioner was unfriendly. I went in for a physical but had other questions. She immediately and rudely stated that if I had issues it wasn't considered a physical. I told her I only had a couple concerns and I didn't care if they billed me for a different visit. She didn't seem to care about any concerns. Set me up.to get blood.work done. It's been three months and no one called to go over results. Also the office is a really a weight loss clinic. Would never recommend or go back to this lady.

I had such a wonderful experience at WellesenseMD! From start to finish, the staff, Stefany was incredibly attentive, friendly, and communicative, making me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout my visit.
Dr. Heidi was absolutely fantastic—she’s personable, compassionate, and genuinely cares about her patients. She truly took the time to listen to all my concerns, which I deeply appreciated. Despite me mentioning that I was a bit time-pressed, the entire team was understanding and ensured that I was in and out on time without ever making me feel rushed- having provided paperwork I had asked as well.
Their level of professionalism, combined with such a warm and considerate approach, is truly unmatched. I definitely will be coming back . I couldn’t recommend WellesenseMD enough! Thank you, Dr. Heidi and team, for an exceptional experience!

I was able to make an appointment for a next day office visit, that was great, especially because I was a new patient and it is end of year crunch time at healthcare practitioner offices. The office is lovely and comfortable. The front desk team were friendly. The wait time was minimal. Heidi McClain, ANP, was very professional and easy to talk to- listening to my concerns and questions, discussing them, educating me along the way. She was knowledgeable, thorough and provided me with options for treatment. I left the office feeling much better about my health situation.

it was an ok experience. The office was more for weight management than internal medicine and to promote their vitamins . The office was clean but did not even have an examination table. It was ok for a last minute scheduling.
