About Dr. Herbert Gessler
Dr. Gessler is a local resident from the South Hills of Pittsburgh, PA. He grew up in Venetia and attended Peters Township High School. After graduation, he attended Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, pursuing a degree in English literature with a minor in psychology. Upon graduation, he attended California University of Pennsylvania to complete his pre-med classes with the intent of becoming an ophthalmologist. After completing an internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, he was accepted into an osteopathic program in Erie.
The summer before he left for school, he suffered a severe ankle injury that required a brace and physical therapy. Even after completing therapy, walking remained difficult. He then sought treatment from a chiropractor, and after having his ankle adjusted, the pain was gone.
Dr. Gessler then declined his acceptance to osteopathic school and applied to Palmer College of Chiropractic to pursue a career as a chiropractor. He graduated cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2008 with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After graduation, he joined another practice where he practiced for seven years. In November 2015, he decided to leave that practice and open his own practice in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Gessler utilizes a variety of adjusting techniques, including Applied Kinesiology (AK) and NeuroEmotional Technique (NET), to better serve his patients. He also practices techniques such as Gonstead, Diversified, and Thompson styles of adjusting.

It’s really crazy to me that Ive dealt with a painful, annoying pinch for so long and I visit Dr. Gessler for one visit and now I can finally lay down..comfortably! No pulling or pinching. Dr Gessler is the very best Chiropractor I’ve ever had. I’ve gone to several over the years and find Dr G. to be the most efficient at taking care of all my aches and pains.
