About Dr. Holly Debuys
Holly DeBuys, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist who completed medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and her internal medicine internship at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. She finished her dermatology residency training at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. DeBuys has worked in dermatology practices in Charlotte, North Carolina and in Arlington and Southlake, Texas. She specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. DeBuys received her B.E. from Vanderbilt University, graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. She worked as an electrical engineer with Tennessee Valley Authority before confirming her call to medicine.
Personal, quality medical care was the ideal way for Dr. DeBuys to integrate her extensive scientific background with her desire to improve individual’s lives.
Having worked in her physician mother’s dermatology office starting at age 15, Dr. DeBuys has long understood the importance of treating patients with compassion and empowering them with education concerning their own dermatological care. Compassion Dermatology was founded on Dr. DeBuys’ goal to change the way her patients view medical care, encouraging them to view it as a holistic, ongoing interaction between patient and physician.
Compassion Dermatology exists to facilitate healing, enhance health and beauty, and improve and support skin, hair, and nail health. Dr. DeBuys welcomes patients of all age groups, tailoring care in accordance with each season of life.

I needed to find a new dermatologist after leaving my old one of 10+ years, and I was very stressed about it. As soon as I walked into the office, my fears melted away. It was so calm, clean, and the front desk staff was professional. I was called back quickly and Dr. Debuys exceeded my expectations! She had an excellent bedside manner, took her time, and answered all of my questions. I needed a biopsy and it was done expertly and with no pain.
Dr. Debuys did not make me feel rushed or like I was “just another patient to get through before lunch.” I highly recommend this office and this doctor. Finding a new doctor is never fun, but this is one of the best experiences I have ever had—hands down.
