About Dr. Israel Kochin
Israel Kochin, M.D., received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in 1999. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Hepatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His pre-medical studies were at Columbia University, where he earned a B.A. cum laude in Economics in 1995.
Dr. Kochin is an author of several recent articles on gastrointestinal diseases published in leading medical journals. He is board certified in both gastroenterology and pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (F.A.A.P.) in 2002.
Even prior to his gastroenterology training at Mount Sinai, Dr. Kochin was appointed an Instructor and subsequently promoted to Assistant Professor at Ross University School of Medicine. He has lectured to medical students in Europe and North America preparing for their U.S. Medical Licensing Exams as a faculty member for The Princeton Review.
Dr. Kochin is a specialist in gastrointestinal illnesses with a strong interest in how immunological factors, including allergic and nutritional choices, affect children’s GI systems, causing symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, and constipation. He currently serves as Medical Director and is on staff at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Doctor was nice however getting lab results was a mission. I had to call the office for results and request a a follow up. This took a few weeks. Since I was dealing with my child this made waiting for answers just way too long.

The doctor has high availability which was very important to us because we wanted to be seen right away. As other reviews mentioned, the office is definitely not state of the art. The front desk person didn't crack a smile but seemed efficient in her duties. The wait time was not long, we were called in by the time I finished filling out paperwork. The doctor spend sufficient amount of time with my 10yo during our initial appointment, answered all our questions and was thorough and appeared knowledgeable. The doctor has a tendency to speak quite fast but repeats or clarifies information when asked. He was very patient with my son who was very resistant and anxious and would barely let the doctor examine him. The doctor ordered follow up tests and we'll be seeing him after the results come in.

Overall Dr. Kochin was very helpful. He took time to answer all the questions I had and spoke with my child with a nice bedside manner. Wait time was excellent - even though I messed up my appt and arrived on the wrong day, he accommodated me and I only waited 15 minutes. Would recommend if you need a pediatric GI.

The doctor was very polite and knowledgable. He made us feel at ease with our newborns milk protein allergy symptoms. The office was not the cleanest, however, and front desk staff were not very kind. Overall would recommend Dr. Kochin.

Very knowledgeable and friendly Dr. Answered all the questions and gave proper suggestions. Requested all the necessary testing. Receptionists need to work on their customer service skills. My advice to the office is not to make your patients fill out exact same paperwork when they walk into the office, when they tell you it was already done online. Wait time was around 40 minutes.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Dr to anyone.

The doctor was nice and knowledgeable. The office was dirty. The paper on the exam table wasn’t changed in between patients. There was a giant roach in a spiderweb by the main door, and there was trash on the floor.

Came in 15 minutes before our appointment with the doctor waited WELL OVER an hour when there was no one else waiting to be seen or in the back with the doctor. Once I was in the room with the doctor, he was very insensitive and dismissive almost as is we were making up what was wrong with our daughter. After he was done seeing her, the clinical staff came in RUSHING US OUT while we were in the middle of dressing our daughter. We had to practically run out of the room with our daughter half clothed because we were taking up the room for no reason even though we had literally just finished seeing the doctor. The staff and doctor are very unfriendly and rude to parents who have younger kids. We will not be returning and will find a new doctor.
