About Dr. Itay Wiser
I am a New York Licensed and an Israeli Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. I serve as the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital after completing two specialty fellowship programs: a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, and a Lymphedema surgery fellowship program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
I hold a PhD in epidemiology and public health from the Sackler School of Medicine in Israel, which helps me to evaluate novel published treatments and technologies that can benefit my patients. I believe that my medical knowledge directly correlates with the quality of care I provide to my patients, and therefore, in addition to patient care, I am routinely involved in medical research.
I am the author of more than 50 peer reviewed scientific publications, and often present my own work in international plastic surgery conferences. My main research interest is patient reported outcome measurement, a new tool that puts the patient in the center of care.
I care for every patient like she or he is my first degree relative. I am responsible for my patients no matter the outcome, and without an expiration date. My relationship with my patients is built on mutual trust, honesty and setting realistic expectations.”

As a former medical professional, front desk etiquette is key. I must say, Dr. Wiser's office is overloaded with professionalism. From front desk, to medical assistance, to Dr's. Each and every employee has contributed to putting my mind and decisions at ease, when taking this big step to making permanent changes with my life. I am overwhelmed with joy to have met this team. Dr. Wiser and PA Sarah, have been exceptionally, good to me right from the start. Their bedside manner never changed. Their care, concerns, and consistent follow-ups post surgery, is very unusual. Maya, Surgical Coordinator, was also exceptionally professional, she cared for all of my questions and concerns pre-surgery. I would highly recommend this team, if you are considering surgical procedures. I am certainly happy with my results with my breast reduction. There's a term in developmental psychology that speaks to the fundamentality of a proper holding environment for a healing experience to occur.
