Getting to know Jacqueline Torgobor

Hello, I’m Jacqueline Torgobor, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of nursing experience, including several years in advanced psychiatric care. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, OCD, and mood-related concerns. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and have practiced in a variety of settings including outpatient psychiatry and behavioral health services. These experiences have shaped my ability to provide thoughtful, individualized care to people from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of life. What truly defines my work is a deep belief that every person’s story matters. No two individuals experience mental health in the same way, which is why I take a highly personalized and culturally sensitive approach to care. I am especially passionate about helping individuals find a sense of hope and direction, even during difficult or uncertain times. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen not just as a patient, but as a whole person, while helping you build clarity, emotional strength, and a path forward that feels meaningful to you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Taking the first step toward mental health care can feel overwhelming, but you will not have to go through it alone. When we work together, you can expect a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. I take time to truly listen and understand your experiences, your concerns, and what you hope to achieve. You will never be rushed or treated like just a diagnosis. Instead, I focus on building a genuine connection so you feel supported and understood from the very beginning. I see our work as a partnership. Your voice, values, and goals are central to every decision we make. My role is to guide you with compassion and clinical expertise while helping you feel more confident, informed, and empowered in your mental health journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together starts with a thoughtful and thorough first conversation where I focus on understanding you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what has or hasn’t worked in the past, and what you want your life to feel like moving forward. I also take time to explore factors that are often overlooked, such as cultural background, personal beliefs, stressors, and support systems, because these all play an important role in mental health. Once we have that foundation, we build a treatment plan together that feels realistic and aligned with your life. This may include medication when appropriate, but I also focus heavily on helping you understand your patterns, triggers, and emotional responses so you can start making meaningful changes outside of sessions. Education is a big part of my process because I want you to feel confident, not confused, about your care. In follow-up visits, we go beyond simply checking symptoms. We look at how you are functioning day to day, what feels different, what still feels challenging, and what progress means to you personally. I adjust treatment with intention, always keeping your goals at the center. My focus is not just short-term relief, but helping you reach a place of mental clarity, emotional balance, and a sense of hope that you can carry forward in your life.

It was probably the worst visit I've ever had with a provider. It was a two minute zoom call in which she asked, "What do you need?" I gave her a brief summary and she said "So you want adderal? I'll connect you with another doctor who can prescribe that." I never got any follow up from her or the office; I had to call. I was shocked by the lack of professionality and absolute zero consideration for the patient whatsoever. Would never recommend this doctor.
