Dr. Arnold asked good questions but it would have been helpful if he would have explained up front that he himself was not going to be my therapist. I felt like the visit was a waste of time for me. But he is very nice and I think the biggest issue is the system, not the person, if that makes any sense.

This is not your usual therapist's office: It's for people who have diagnosed illnesses currently on medications and need group therapy. I understand that this is the case for many and he needed to run the usual list of questions to assess my mental health. However, when I questioned him, he just talked down to me and said we had only been speaking for 10 mins and we can address that later. An hour later, after he fixated on things that happened 10 years ago (not my current needs), it seemed he did not hear me at all and pigeonholed me into the rest because it would be too much work to actually do something else. Once I spoke to receptionist taking appointments, she seemed to understand that ZocDoc kind of misrepresented their Services and asked if she could take my case to her supervisor. All in all, I walked out feel good that I asserted myself and didn't roll over to whatever they thought was a quick fix. Unfortunately, this is borne from previous poor experiences in the mental health field, and I have learned to make my needs known clear.
