Natalie X. Korytnyk Forrester, PhD
I am a clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy in a boutique private practice in downtown D.C. For over 20 years, I have worked collaboratively with professional individuals and couples with diverse life experiences who are facing unique difficulties and challenges. My approach is to be engaging and interactive, helping individuals to gain insight and understanding of the root causes, as well explore practical solutions to their problems. Aside from my private practice, I am also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at George Washington University Medical School. I am also on staff as a consultant to the George Washington University Center for Integrative Medicine. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. After moving to the DC area, I initially worked at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, and then became Chief Psychologist for Inpatient Psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Later, I worked for the Veterans Administration and helped to develop an outpatient sexual trauma program for veterans. I have also taught psychology courses at University of Missouri-St. Louis and at the Catholic University of America. Additionally, I offer “Inner Transformations”, a new and successful program that I have developed from my years of research and experience in treating weight and eating issues. My treatment focuses on understanding the role of internal feelings and struggles that underlie and often undermine our wish to pursue healthy behavior.
