Getting to know James Darden

High-functioning adults can look successful while spending far more effort than anyone sees. I provide telehealth psychiatric evaluation and medication management across California. Adult ADHD is the primary focus, along with OCD, anxiety, and executive-function concerns. Bright kid. Hard season. I also see children and adolescents ages 6–17 for ADHD, OCD, or anxiety. A parent or legal guardian starts the request and participates as clinically appropriate. The child or adolescent participates directly. Initial evaluations are 60 minutes. I consider developmental and treatment history, current functioning, sleep, mood, medical context, and what needs to change. The plan may include careful medication management and individual cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety, depression, or ADHD when clinically appropriate. For OCD, I coordinate with ERP therapists when indicated. Medication is one option, not the default. An evaluation does not guarantee a diagnosis, prescription, refill, or specific medication. I am a dual board-certified nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC and AG-ACNP-BC), trained at Yale and Johns Hopkins. My training includes three years in child and adolescent psychiatry. F10 is a solo practice. Every appointment is directly with me. F10 does not provide family therapy, formal neuropsychological or autism evaluations, forensic evaluations, or crisis or emergency services.
