Getting to know Jamie McCracken
Hello! I am a Family PMHNP (psychiatric nurse practitioner). I graduated from Georgia State University, earning my Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. I am nationally board certified as a PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner). I help patients gain a new perspective through supportive therapy and medication management. I enjoy fostering knowledge and empowerment about mental health. I truly care about my patients and always do my best to make them feel better.
*Please note* that due to recent changes in practice laws, I cannot prescribe scheduled substances on the first visit. In person visit will be required. (like Xanax, Adderall, Ambien)
What should a new client know about working with you?
In our first session together, I will take the time to learn about you and your goals in treatment. We will come up with a plan together. I will get to know you. Past patients would describe me as east to talk to and a great listener.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
I am a compassionate provider that wants to make a positive change. I take my time and get to know you and your goals. I spend a part of the session for questions and teaching.

Jamie is a great listener. She was extremely thorough and took her time to make sure she understood all the details in her assessment. She also confirmed personal information with me such as my preferred name and pronouns, which tells me she's a very LGBTQIA+ friendly clinician. She was kind, empathetic, and explained everything she was doing thoroughly. Very intelligent and thoughtful provider. I absolutely recommend her for your psych needs.
