Everything was perfect about this experience. Dr. Nuwer is knowledgeable, personable and warm. The staff at the Bay Health Center are all absolutely lovely and I felt welcomed and cared for. In fact, this was probably the best doctor's office visit I've ever had. I've found my go-to doctor. So happy : )

Dr. Jamie Nuwer, M.D. is a lifetime resident of California. She fell in love with the Bay Area while attending college at Stanford University. Jamie returned to her home town of Los Angeles for medical school at UCLA. She returned to the Bay Area for residency in Family Medicine and fellowship in Sports Medicine at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. There she was able to cover local sports teams including San Jose State and the Women’s Pro Soccer team, FC Gold Pride. She has continued her research in sports medicine injuries in Ultimate Frisbee. She also currently sits as the Chairwoman of the international medical and anti-doping committees for Ultimate Frisbee.
Outside of medicine, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog Montana. She also enjoys ultimate frisbee, cycling, softball, outdoor recreation, cooking, and traveling.

Dr Nuwer is fantastic. I'm from New Zealand and have found the American health insurance system confusing, but Dr Nuwer was definitely worth it! I'd highly recommend her. She has the perfect combination of expertise and communication skills. She spent time with me and listened; these virtues can be rare in medicine. Importantly, she also created a rehabilitation plan to fix my sports injury.

Dr. Nuwer was great - she really listened to what I was experiencing and was very responsive to my symptoms and my answers to the solutions I had already tried. Thanks to her, my ankle was able to handle the 5k I was running less than a month after my appointment and I know I'm ready for ski season!

Forward thinking medicine. Having a scheduled doctor's phone visit is different than just having a doctor return your call. It is a scheduled allotted time where as patient you can relax and know that your doctor has set time to focus on just your medical needs. Due to circumstances out of my control I was able to leave my house. Being able to have my appointment over the phone was so convenient and stress free. Dr. Nuwer has an excellent bedside manner and communication with her was easy yet thorough. Dr. Nuwer makes you feel like you are her most important patient. Patient, caring, and articulate. Dr. Nuwer takes the time to really listen to all your medical needs and concerns.

My first visit with Dr. Newer was great. I filled out most of my paperwork online, so there wasn't much handwriting required when I showed up. She was very attentive, taking note of all my symptoms. She then took her time to perform several tests to be certain of my condition. Dr. Nuwer didn't seem rushed at all, but on the contrary, very interested in my well-being and improvement.
What a difference from the last place I'd been, where it was clear I was just a number to be moved through the system. This was my first visit, but from what I've experienced, I'm happy to believe next time I have a need, it will likely be addressed with the same amount of care.
