Dr. Janeen Bates, a board-certified family practice specialist, provides primary care to patients of all ages. After finishing her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of New Mexico, she remained in Albuquerque while she earned her medical degree at the University of New Mexico Medical School. She completed her residency in family practice at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. As a family practice physician, Dr. Bates treats a wide variety of conditions and illnesses, including acute illnesses such as colds and urinary tract infections. She also manages chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure and refers patients to appropriate specialists when needed. She has experience in providing primary care services in both private practice and urgent care settings. Dr. Bates’ primary clinical interest is wellness. She sees herself as an advocate for patients—helping them learn healthy habits, teaching them how those habits impact their overall health and wellness, and helping them manage their diseases. She loves getting to know patients and their families and helping them live their best, healthy lives. Her approach to patient care is to get to know patients individually.
