Dr. Scobie is a board-certified noninvasive clinical cardiologist with extensive experience in providing evidence-based cardiovascular care with a strong focus on primary and secondary cardiovascular disease prevention in outpatient clinical and community-based settings. Her work has also extended to the Caribbean where she performed and interpreted echocardiograms in areas without cardiovascular care and developed programs in collaboration with local health leaders centered on improvement of cardiovascular health. Dr. Scobie has led multiple clinical and community-based initiatives to improve self-management of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and other cardiovascular risk factors. She has served as Co-Chair of Community Programs for the Association of Black Cardiologists.
Dr. Scobie was born in Dominica, West Indies and immigrated to the United States at a young age where she was raised in New York City. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Society at Cornell University. She subsequently received her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania where she also went on to complete her residency training in Internal Medicine and then completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Throughout her medical training she developed an interest in conducting research to reduce disparities in cardiovascular disease and improve cardiovascular health outcomes. After her Cardiovascular Fellowship, Dr. Scobie completed a master’s degree in health policy from the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Since then, she has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has done multiple presentations at national research meetings on cardiovascular disparities, and the development and implementation of outpatient clinical and community-based strategies to improve cardiovascular health outcomes.

She was unprofessional (missed an appointment that she promised to attend), failed to offer any reasonable explanation as to why recent tests measuring the same thing (at her office and with another physician) would produce conflicting results, and never responded to several emails. Very disappointing.

I had a Zoom call scheduled to meet with the doctor. I logged on 5min early and waited for 20min past the start time of my appointment before logging off having not seen the doctor. The office called 45min after my appointment time saying that the doctor is ready now if I was still available to meet. I told her I was available during the time I was waiting on the Zoom call, but not anymore. She then quickly replied in an annoyed tone, “No, the doctor was on, she was just with another patient!” I don’t know what was meant by that, but her tone shifted and sounded defensive when there was no effort to alert me that there was a wait time in the first place and then further making me out to be the bad guy for not waiting longer.

Notwithstanding the fact that the appointment was booked weeks ago, the doctor’s office called the morning of the appointment to cancel without explanation. It would be great to have had advance notice. My time is just as important as her time.

Dr. Scobie is fantastic. She intently listening to my symptoms (and there are A LOT) and was so thorough she brought up symptoms I have had that I didn't realize were relevant. I realized also that I have had these symptoms longer than I thought. She then ordered several follow up tests, and is building off of prior ones to ensure we cover all of our bases when it comes to my care. I'm so happy I saw her for a consult!

Best experience with a physician in NYC. As a pregnant woman who needed to see a cardiologist, Dr. Scobie made me feel so calm, took her time and listened and explained any of my questions. Her staff was amazing as well, very caring and attentive.

Thought the care I got from Dr Scobie while in office was good. However, I was told I needed to schedule a tilt table test after my initial consultation.
The doctor’s office said someone would reach out to schedule this test. I have followed up five times on the phone over a two week period, and the only response I can get is “someone will get back to you eventually about scheduling this test.” (The office does not have a direct line you can reach, you can only reach the Mt Sinai operator, who can then reach the doctor’s office.)

There was a slight wait once in the room but it was attributed to Dr's thorough communication with elderly patient before me. Dr did not rush with me either ??

It was impossible to have this telemedicine visit with the cardiologist Dr. Janice Schobin. I had signed up on Zocdoc last night, because I’ve been having pain around my left breast and heart area. First, I did receive the promised message by email from Mr. Sinai, her insituttion, that I had to download the Mt.Sinai app and sign up to use the telemedicine feature. I went through that whole process only to have the app reject all my filled in data and it "started over" blank. Next, I tried to call the office, per the number shown on the Mt. Sinai email. The voice mail options did not match either this doctor's office or name, but his woman somewhere in the Mt. Sinai system by phone transferred me to another office.
THIS NEW WOMAN COULD NOT HELP ME AND DIDN'T EVEN WORK FOR MT SINAI.
I googled this doctor and called “her office.” Only to find out it wasn’t really her office anymore and they had no contact with this doctor. I spent almost an hour trying to attend this appointment.

Dr Scobie had a thorough consultation with me . She was patient and attentive. I feel confident in her level of care about my well being and in addition to an EKG during my first appointment set up further tests .. I feel Dr Scobie , even though rather young herself , was similar to doctors I had years ago ( I’m 78 years old ) .. I did not feel caught up in institutional healthcare which seems to be the new normal . Even though I made my appointment through ZocDoc I’m quite possibly switching my cardiac care to Dr Scobie
