Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
OK
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am passionate about helping individuals achieve mental wellness through a holistic, patient-centered approach. My journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Sciences from the University of Oklahoma in 2010. Inspired to make a greater impact, I pursued a career in nursing, earning Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017. In 2022, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Maryville University’s PMHNP-BC program and became board certified, marking the culmination of years dedicated to advanced mental health care. Throughout my career, I’ve specialized in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, sleep issues, and PTSD. My experience spans patients of all ages—children, adolescents, adults, and seniors—allowing me to tailor care to diverse needs. While I have extensive expertise in psychotropic medication management, I believe mental health care should address the whole person. I incorporate lifestyle modifications, such as nutrition, exercise, supplements, and stress management, into treatment plans to promote sustainable wellness. I understand that mental health care requires trust, empathy, and a willingness to listen. My approach is to create a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel supported and understood. I focus on empowering my patients by educating them about their treatment options and ensuring they have a voice in their care decisions. By bridging the gap between physical and mental health, I strive to provide comprehensive care that fosters both immediate relief and long-term well-being. In addition to providing targeted psychiatric care, I carefully monitor co-occurring medical issues that may impact mental health, ensuring an integrated approach to treatment. My goal is to offer practical, effective solutions that improve quality of life while respecting each individual’s unique journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a provider, I believe in creating a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and supported. My approach is collaborative—I view treatment as a partnership where we work together to understand your concerns and develop a personalized plan for care. I use evidence-based treatments, including medication management and psychotherapy techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, to help you reach your goals. I focus on addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mood or behavioral challenges. You can expect a thoughtful and thorough initial evaluation followed by ongoing, consistent care. I believe in clear communication, setting achievable goals, and empowering you with the knowledge and tools needed to manage your mental health. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, informed, and in control of your care. We will continuously review progress and adapt your treatment to meet your evolving needs. Compassion, trust, and clinical excellence are at the heart of my practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When working with clients, my process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. In our first session, we will explore your medical history, mental health history, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, and personal goals. I take the time to listen carefully and understand your unique experiences to provide an accurate diagnosis and recommend an individualized treatment plan. After the initial evaluation, sessions typically focus on medication management, monitoring your response to prescribed treatments, and adjusting them as needed to optimize results and minimize side effects. I also incorporate elements of talk therapy, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, to help you develop coping strategies, manage stress, and promote long-term emotional wellness. I encourage active participation and collaboration throughout the process. Each session is designed to be supportive, educational, and solution-focused. We will set measurable goals and review your progress regularly to ensure your care plan continues to meet your evolving needs. My aim is to empower you to take an active role in your mental health journey, offering compassionate guidance and evidence-based care along the way.

The goal of my practice is to never have to turn a patient down due to money or insurance. The payment agreement is negotiable, and I will only require a down payment. If I am not credentialed to take your insurance, communicate this so it can be remedied.
