About Dr. Jason Lowery

Jason Lowery, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who has been serving residents of the Washington DC Metropolitan area since 2011. He is very excited to start seeing patients out of the Germantown location.
Dr. Lowery received his medical degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and completed a residency in Family Medicine at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
Dr. Lowery was keenly interested in family medicine from the very beginning of medical school and enjoys family medicine’s holistic approach to the patient. During his time in medicine, he has found he enjoys preventive medicine, diabetes management and care, and making sure patients feel comfortable coming to see their physician. In his spare time, Dr. Lowery enjoys reading comics, cooking, painting, and collecting just about anything imaginable. He also enjoys doting on his two cats and traveling when possible.

After relocating to the area, it took me a very long time to decide on a pcp but I’m so happy I found Dr. Lowery. He was kind, took his time with my exam, apologized for running behind (which wasn't long at all), seemed interested in getting to know me and my history as a new patient, and cared about any concerns I had. The girl who did my intake exam and the girl who did my labs right in office were also fantastic (sorry I can’t remember their names).
The only negative was I was a little disappointed when I first walked in and there were 3 people sitting at the front desk and no one acknowledged me at first due to carrying on personal conversations or just being on their phones. When one finally noticed me she just stared at me and waited for me to say something.
Overall I had a good experience and will definitely be continuing to see Dr. Lowery.

15/10 a positive experience! Dr. Lowery was welcoming, down to earth, very attentive and listened to all my needs and goals for finding a new PCP and getting my health back on track. I cannot recommend this practice enough to anyone looking for a PCP in Gaithersburg/Germantown/Upper Montgomery County, MD.

I had a really good experience seeing Dr Lowery. The wait time was almost nothing. The nurse was very friendly and professional. Dr. Lowery and his nurse were so affirming, trauma and bias informed in their approach that I immediately felt safe. They were not dismissive and that's a new experience for me with doctors. I've recommended that my husband see him as well. What a jewel in our community! I'll be spreading the word to my parent circle!

Appointment was scheduled but minimal effort was undertaken to communicate the context of my appointment wasn't feasible. Wasn't until I called them that I was told I would have to reschedule. If more effort had been made to communicate with me, we could have easily rescheduled. But that didn't happen.

From start to finish, this was by far the best experience that I have had in a doctors office in 20 years. The front desk was very courteous and respectful. The Medical Assistant that took me back to the exam room carefully reviewed the history that I had entered previously.
When Dr Lowery came in to the room, I immediately felt at ease. We once again reviewed my history, with him asking for more details along the way. Several times, he had to refer to CRISP for more information. Each time, he showed me what he was looking at to confirm it was correct.
When all was said and done, not only had he sent my prescriptions to my pharmacy, he also gave me a lab slip to have bloodwork completed before my next appointment. To top it all off, HE set up the appointment. I didn't have to go to the front desk, I didn't have to call back later and I didn't have to go online. Dr Lowery set everything up before I left.
