About Dr. Jeffrey Ahn
Dr. Jeffrey Ahn is one of the leading head and neck surgeons in the world, with over twenty years of clinical experience and a long record of academic leadership. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University and completed his internship in General Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Ahn then completed his residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at NYU Langone Health. As Director of Sleep Disorder & Robotic Surgery and Assistant Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Ahn has dedicated his career to pioneering approaches in the treatment of sinusitis, snoring, and sleep apnea.
Patient comfort is at the heart of Dr. Ahn’s academic work and private practice. Over the years, he has been at the forefront of developing minimally invasive head and neck procedures that reduce patient discomfort and shorten recovery time. His additional fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery means he is particularly skilled in minimizing both the visible impact and physical discomfort of head and neck surgery. Dr. Ahn was the first surgeon in the United States to use the coagulating agent Costasis to control bleeding during nasal and sinus surgeries, sparing patients from painful post-operative packing. Since 2005, he has performed balloon sinuplasty, a minimally invasive, endoscopic, catheter-based technique that has greatly improved and shortened patient recovery. Currently, Dr. Ahn is involved in stem cell research for connective tissue engineering in head and neck reconstruction, as well as the research and development of head and neck robotic surgery.

I found Dr Ahn to be a terrible listener (did not seem to care about my concerns, jumped to conclusions) and he gave me bad advice that consisted mostly of suggesting surgery. I sought a second opinion from another doctor who was able to give me a more standard treatment course and I avoided surgery completely. His office environment is chaotic - lots of people in the room who go in and out, he switches between patients, etc. I would avoid him and this practice at all costs.

Dr and staff are very good. I think he is a great Dr, diagnose the issue vey well.
Only problem is there is no parking facility you need to look for parking in street.

Dr. Ahn has great bedside manner and his staff are very friendly and professional. The wait time was long probably because it was still the initial consultation and it was a Saturday. However overall the office treated us amazingly and we had a pleasant experience with the doctor. He explained our symptoms well and took his time asking us questions. He is very thorough. I recommend everyone to visit Dr. Ahn.

This office has awful service! My first office went ok, but in my second office in their New Jersey office I had to wait more than 30 minutes. I had to leave.
Then I made another appointment in their New York office, and the receptionist seemed to be asking me in a critical way why I needed to come again.
I asked her if the time I was coming was still ok, and she said yes. So I came and again had to wait more than 30 minutes. I am going to have to find a different doctor.
This doctor is ok but beware of the staff and service!

Dr. Ahn doesn't waste time with chit-chat or social niceties. He also doesn't leave you sitting in the waiting room for 30min while he's chit-chatting with others. Which I appreciate. Some people want a therapist in their ENT but if you want prompt, professional care -- of the highest level -- in an immaculate setting, this is definitely your doctor.

My appointment was at the end of winter, I wanted to get all my my allergy and GERD prescriptions early so I could be prepared for the coming spring allergy season. I came in with my records from my previous ENT and a list of what I was previously prescribed and worked. I saw this man every two weeks for the next three months. At every visit he refused to write any prescriptions telling me to try the over the counter meds despite the fact that I've told him that OTC isn't strong enough to treat my allergies. My visits were more or less How do you feel? - I feel terrible, these are my symptoms. - Okay follow up in 2 weeks. He was only out to make a buck off my insurance. Never going back.

I was hoping I found an ENT doctor who could help me but instead I felt rushed. Didn't feel like I was being heard as he kept interrupting me while I was trying to describe my symptoms. It felt like he just didn't care at all. I will not be returning to his office again.
The staff however were very kind and courteous. I give the staff 5 stars.

I visited Dr. Ahn in January 2016 in order to get a proper diagnosis of my sinus congestion, allergies and past sinus infections. After two visits to see Dr. Ahn in less than a month for my sinus problems and deviated septum, my overall impression of this doctor is that his main focus is to increase revenue for his practice. He does not provide a detailed explanation for his diagnosis and seems very impatient with a poor and condescending demeanor to patients. I filled out a medical release consent form for his office to send me my allergy test results. However, his office staff refused and the doctor has yet to call me for an explanation. I will be contacting the proper medical board so I can receive my results and file a complaint about this doctor.

Dr. Ahn was friendly, straightforward, and thorough in his initial ENT consultation. After I left the appointment, I called his office with follow-up questions that came to mind later on that day. Although Dr. Ahn was busy with a patient, his staff made sure to direct my questions to him, and they returned my call promptly with all the answers I needed. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ahn if you are seeking an ENT specialist.

His staff very friendly. The waiting area clean. Cabinets inside the patient's room may need to be wiped or changed. They are not dusty but stained with black marks. The doctor is knowledgable and professional but could be a little more friendly or at least not too serious. Overall, I would recommend this doctor, so far.
