About Dr. Jeffrey Altman
Born in 1964 at Travis Air Force Base, California. Raised in Northbrook, Illinois, and graduate of Glenbrook North High School. AB from Washington University in St. Louis, 1986. Doctor of Medicine from Rush University. Internship in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University. Residency in Dermatology at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago. Fellowship in Mohs, Laser, and Cutaneous Surgery at Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield, Wisconsin. Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society. Former Assistant Professor, Department of Dermatology at Rush Medical College from 1996 through 2015. Past President of both the Illinois Dermatological and Chicago Dermatological Societies. Served on the Alumni Executive Board of Rush Medical College as an elected Counselor. Author of 13 published articles and presenter of over 30 professional local, regional, and national presentations.
Clinical experience includes private practice in Arlington Heights, IL, growing and running a practice for over 20 years; working as a dermatologist for a large, integrated health system in McHenry County for over 5 years; and hospital medical staff at Northwest Community Hospital from 1995 to 2016, including inpatient consulting and OR privileges. Clinical teaching at Rush Dermatology Department for 20 years. Significant experience in medical-legal consulting and a former clinical investigator and public speaker for several pharmaceutical companies. Participated in a mission medical trip to Haiti in 2007, for which he received Presidential and AAD volunteerism recognition awards.
Married to Pamela Altman, RN, with three lovely adult daughters and one moody cat. Hobbies include travel, golf, alpine skiing, gardening, and singing.

Easy to book appointment. Front desk could improve in their customer service skills (all three looked bored and not too approachable.) However, Dr. Altman was friendly, kind and listened to my concerns. He addressed my concern with good communication skills along with a great smile. I would recommend him.

I came to Dr Alton to get some minor
Facial cosmetic done because I saw on his website that he worked on sun damage skin. When I said what I was there for sun damage on my face he seemed disappointed. After his reaction he apologized and was pleasant . He did a good job.

Doctor Altman takes his time with you as a patient and really listens to your concerns.
This is the second time that I have seen Doctor Altman at the Park Ridge location and both my experiences have been great .
If you are looking for a doctor that is at the top of his profession then Doctor Altman is your choice .
The office at the Park Ridge location was very clean.
Making an appointment was very easy with the online app but you can also call and deal with a great staff .
From the person who did my intake , the receptionist and Doctor Altman were top notch .
Both times that I have see. Doctor Altman were for possible skin cancer issues .

The doctor did not introduce himself and was only in the room for two minutes. He didn’t even properly examine me or ask me any questions. All he did was prescribe me a cream and never explained anything. His bedside manner was extremely unprofessional and he did not seem like he cared at all. The office staff and medical assistants were very nice, but the doctor didn’t seem to care at all.

He’s very nice, aware of the world around him. Knew I worked with a sister company so that was cool. I like when my Doctors are know outside of their world. He checked my toes too since I just got an ingrown cut and said it was healing back good. Thank you.

Dr. Altman was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. He reassured me about my issue and walked me through how I should proceed going forward. As far as I am concerned, he eill be my goto dermatologist going forward. Kudos!

I have seen Dr. Altman a few times and have been satisfied with every visit. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and has helped me with every issue that has arisen. He is expedient but not rushed. This was an awful experience I wish I could go back and never have had it. The nurses were rude and condescending, and then the doctor repeatedly cut me off, did not take my concerns, and past experiences seriously, talked down to me, as well as made several sexist and discriminatory remarks, such as that I should make sure to be genetically tested before I consider having children so that I could ensure they would turn out normal, and not like me. This was an all-around awful experience and I will never even consider returning.

Absolutely nightmare of a doctor experience. This man was explicitly rude, was clear about being in a rush, and did not even wait for me to finish a single sentence before interrupting and launching into his first speech of several.
He told me he was going to lance my face without asking a single question about my recent symptoms, my recent care history, medications, etc.. Doctors must have a higher standard of care, period. He performed an extremely painful procedure on my face with a knife , all on assumption, without ever letting me actually tell him what I was in for.
I asked him to listen to my recent symptoms and treatment history and he became very defensive and began to monologue on his credits. This guy will tell you about his credentials but he will not listen to your recent symptoms lol. Bad doctor.
Nothing he can offer that can't be offered by a doctor who will take 2 minutes and listen to their patients. You deserve better than jeffrey altman.

Maybe I caught him on an off day but I’m not sure why he has such good reviews. I would not recommend Dr. Altman. He would talk over me and wouldn’t let me get a word out to ask questions. I had to talk over him in order to ask him something. It felt very rushed and like he wasn’t interested in what I had to say. He was not very helpful and I left feeling like my questions weren’t answered, I wasn’t listened to and it wasn’t helpful. He was almost gaslighting my problems and saying it was normal and not important. I will not be coming back here and I might even go to another doctor for the same issue next week.
