About Dr. Jeffrey Metzger
My approach to medicine and healing is based on the naturopathic principle, Vis Medicatrix Naturae, the ?Healing Power of Nature.? The human body is well adapted to heal itself given the proper conditions.
In our culture, we have lost track of some of the ?foundations of health? that allow and support the body's own healing mechanisms. By reestablishing these foundations, the patient is in a much better position to heal and to lead a healthy life.
Jeff Metzger, ND, earned his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University and is a provider of primary naturopathic health care with an emphasis on treating chronic illness. Each appointment typically involves assessment of presenting problems, personal and family history, and a physical examination. You and Dr. Metzger will develop a plan together for immediate and long-term treatment.

Dr. Metzger was not overbooked and I enjoyed the short wait (3 days) for the appointment, as well as meeting him in his friendly office in Ballard. His physical was also very thorough.

It was very thorough, gave me much more time than expected, and sent home with herbal medicine to start and a list of a couple of other herbal medicines to purchase along with a vegetable I never knew would help my gut situation. Yes, looking forward to my follow-up in 3 weeks.

Dr. Metzger may be knowledgeable, and I’m sure in some situations caring, but if you want responsible medical care you should probably look elsewhere. He has no staff, and it manifests in the service he gives you.
I chose Dr. Metzger because I moved to Seattle and was looking for a PCP. I went in for an annual physical, bloodwork, and to renew a prescription, in addition to a new physical concern on my body.
He performed the physical, which was reassuring. Then he gave me an order for blood work at Labcorp, but did not instruct me on how to actually go about getting time in their lab to get my blood drawn. When I tried to follow up by phone he was unavailable.
Then, I come to find out he “can’t write prescriptions” for a very common and routine medication that I’ve been taking for years on and off, okay.
He also completely forgets to tell me how to remedy the new physical concern, I remind him, and he still does nothing.
I wasted an insurance visit. Still looking for bloodwork

Dr. Metzger is extremely knowlegable about herbs, vitamins, and cares a lot about his patients. Me and my husband went too many medicine doctors before, and none of them had time to listen us nor care about our overall health. We are grateful that we found Dr. Metzger. We also had fertility issues, after seeing him for less than a year, I got pregnant!
Recommended to anyone who is interested in finding the actual cause of their illness, rather than being constantly prescribed medicines just to fix the symptom.
