Dr. Jennifer Kim was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and graduated as valedictorian of her class from Harriton High School. She then went on to complete her undergraduate studies at Yale University, where she majored in music with a focus on piano performance. Following college, she returned to Philadelphia, where she went on to medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. After her internship year at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, she completed a three year residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Wills Eye Institute. She went on to pursue training in cornea at the Duke Eye Center, considered one of the premier cornea fellowships in the country.
As a cornea fellowship-trained surgeon, Dr. Kim has experience in both partial and full-thickness cornea transplantion, including both DSAEK and DALK, as well as implantation of INTACs ring segments for keratoconus. She also specializes in presbyopia and astigmatism correcting lens implants as well as bladeless LASIK surgery and PRK.
