Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
3011 Citrus Cir, suite 207, Walnut Creek, CA
** I am a dual ANCC Board Certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been working in the mental health field since 1990 in various roles. I have had a broad range of experience and the opportunity to work with and provide medication management services to all age groups. I integrate medication management and psychotherapeutic approaches when indicated. My previous mental health clinical experiences include acute and long-term psychiatric facilities, as well as practicing in outpatient psychiatric clinics for children, adolescents and adults. I have also experienced, to broaden my knowledge base, in medical fields, such as infection prevention, pain management & gastroenterology. My undergraduate work and Registered Nurse Licensure was completed in 1996 at Pacific Union College in Angwin, Ca. Later, I returned to school and in 2007 I obtained a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Licensure in Family Nurse Practitioner from Holy Names University in Oakland, Ca. After using my Family Nurse Practitioner mainly while practicing in psychiatry, I decided to return to school one more time. I figured you’re never too old to go back to school, nor to learn. Therefore, after three more years of knowledge gathering, I became dual certified when I obtained my Post Masters Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Washburn University in Topeka KS and then became ANCC board certified in July 2018. With a background in nursing, I put a strong emphasis in education and having the patient participate in their own healthcare. In the event the patient is a minor, BOTH parents or legal guardians must consent to participation and treatment. Currently, accepting new patients for medication management for ages 6 and older only.
