About Jil Swanson
Jil is a board-certified physician assistant with over 18 years of clinical experience specializing in dermatology. Prior to joining Dr. Seraly, Jil worked in both private practice and university settings. She has a particular interest in general dermatology, pigmented lesions, cutaneous oncology, and psoriasis.
Ms. Swanson began her studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Bachelor of Science and pursued her Master of Science in Biology at California University of Pennsylvania. In 2001, she earned a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University.
Jil has authored several publications, lectured in dermatology, and received multiple awards as preceptor of the year for physician assistant students.
She is the Founder and Past President of the Pennsylvania Dermatology Physician Assistant (PDPA) Society and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants, the Pennsylvania Dermatology Physician Assistant Society, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

1st visit in a dermatologist office is mainly info. When Jill Swanson came into room, she was easy to talk to, she listen to me. I wasn’t rushed. She looked at my issues, gave me 3 scenarios, we together decided on 1 scenario. She gave me a list of products that I can buy. Explained her plan going forward. Got a future appointment.

Dr. Swanson was fantastic. Made me comfortable immediately (and it’s not easy to feel comfortable in those disintegrating paper gowns), listened to my concerns, explained what she was going to do, and then clearly articulated what she found in terms I could understand. I’ve already recommended her to my family members that live nearby!

I was seen promptly and did not have to repeat things filled out in forms. All staff were very polite. This certainly ranked among the upper echelon of my visits to medical offices.
Jil was able to quickly diagnose my issues (including a chronic one), something previous dermatological visits with other dermatologists did not seem to do.
I did not feel rushed; rather my time was respected.
