Getting to know Joan Telemaque

I am dedicated to offering a compassionate and devoted attitude while providing a therapeutic rapport in which I can effectively and safely meet the needs of clients. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked in a vast array of settings, including outpatient and inpatient. I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bennett College in North Carolina and eventually a Master's in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT. Years later, with an interest in providing physical care in addition to mental care, I achieved a Nursing degree from New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island and eventually a Master's in Nursing from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. I am ANCC Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Certified across the lifespan with a focus on adults 18 years old and over, I have treated numerous psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, PTSD, acute sleep disturbances, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. I work closely with my clients to achieve appropriate desired effectiveness.
