About Dr. Joanna Scoon
Dr. Joanna Scoon is a board-certified pulmonary and critical care medicine specialist practicing in Houston. She is passionate about patient care and provides comprehensive and compassionate care to her patients with a broad range of pulmonary conditions.
Dr. Scoon completed internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where she received the Junior Resident of the Year award. She pursued subspecialty training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and then served at the same institution as an assistant professor in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. This role allowed her to contribute to the academic community and gain extensive experience in the management of complex pulmonary cases.
Dr. Scoon firmly believes in a patient-centered approach to healthcare. Her primary mission is to facilitate optimal respiratory health for her patients, providing them with the best possible care and support.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Scoon! Was very thorough, attentive, and made sure i felt comfortable throughout the entire appointment.
Dr. Scoon really listened to my issue and gave me multiple options to fix it. Was also really nice to hear a breakdown of what exactly was going on rather than just a general explanation.

Dr. Scoon was very attentive while listening to my concerns regarding my health. She reviewed my medical history prior to my appointment with her. She did some tests while I as there and scheduled other tests to figure out what's going on. She doesn't play around, she listens and does whatever is necessary to treat my symptoms and find a cure. I was in pretty rough shape with my asthma today but Dr Scoon was very helpful and a delight to work with. Her MA Wendy is a gem as well and even though the PFT was hard she made it bearable with her enthusiasm and passion.

Dr. Scoon and her medical team are extremely sweet, caring, and attentive. Dr. Scoon and her team really take the time to listen and understand. She really seemed to care about my health concerns and showed a strong desire to get to the bottom of my breathing issues and ailments. She even listened and offered solutions to some of the other medical issues I have had going on for a very long time. I wish ALL doctors were like her and her team. If more doctors were like her, I would not have some of the issues I have had for years now. I will be sure to come to her for all my pulmonary needs if ever needed in the future. I also trust her recommendations for other doctors I might need. I thank God I scheduled with her. I am really hopeful for resolution to my current breathing concerns and think Dr. Scoon will help resolve them. Her medical staff, such as the technician Ms. Wendy, who conducted my breathing test, is so nice, clean, and professional. May God bless her and her medical team!

Dr. Scoon was great. It’s rare these days to feel like a doctor actually cares to hear of your medical history and takes time to elaborate on potential factors and solutions to your problems.
It’s taken many years but in 1 appointment I have such a better understanding of my breathing issues than I ever have.
