About Joanne Mazzio
Joanne Mazzio, CNM, NP, MS, is a certified nurse midwife specializing in gynecology at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley. Dedicated to a personalized and holistic model of care, Joanne provides safe and compassionate midwifery services for women of all ages. She has worked in the Hudson Valley community for more than two decades. Joanne graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in nursing from Lehman College of The City University of New York, where her initial interest in women’s health care and midwifery was sparked.
After working as a public health nurse in her home community of the Bronx, she worked at a high-risk maternity unit. There, she gained the experience and skills that would serve as a foundation for her career as a midwife. Joanne graduated with honors from the Midwifery Education Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and later completed her master’s in midwifery at Downstate University. Joanne initially worked in a hospital setting where she headed the adolescent prenatal program and provided care to underserved women and teens in childbirth. After seven years, she went on to join a private practice providing full scope midwifery care, including both well woman gynecology and obstetrical care to women of the Hudson Valley.

Dr Mazzio, is one of the nicest, professional Dr’s. She always makes you feel comfortable and well informed. Staff are friendly, and the office is clean and comfortable.

I was late for my appointment and the front desk still accomodated me anyway—and even had a facemask because I forgot mine! Joanne was literally the NICEST GYN provider I have ever seen. I was beyond happy with my appointment and her treatment plan for me!
