Dr. Joel Lehrer is one of the foremost ear and dizziness (balance) specialists in New Jersey. He has particular expertise in inner ear disorders and middle ear and mastoid surgery. He has lectured and published extensively with particular emphasis in the areas of dizziness and imbalance and disorders of the inner ear.
One of the founding partners of Northern Jersey Ear, Nose and Throat, PA, Dr. Lehrer was trained in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) and completed a Fellowship in Otolaryngology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Lehrer was a member of the teaching staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Otolaryngology and Neurotology, and at the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital in Otolaryngology and has appointments at the Mount Sinai Medical School and the New York Medical College.
Dr. Lehrer was an active member of the New York County and Bergen County Medical Societies and served as a Trustee and Secretary of the Bergen County Medical Society. He was President of the Bergen County Society of Otolaryngologists and President of the Holy Name Hospital Physicians Organization. He served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Medical Staff of Holy Name Hospital and as a Trustee of the Hospital. He served as a Trustee of the Valley Hospital Physicians Organization. He is a Fellow of the American Neurotology Society, and a member of the Barany Society and of the Neurotological and Equilobriometric Society, both of which are societies devoted to Neurotology.
Dr. Lehrer provides information on dizziness, imbalance and disorders of the inner ear, diagnosis and treatments for ear disorders as well as rehabilitative services for hearing loss, which includes the fitting of hearing aids. Dr. Lehrer practices at 1 Degraw Avenue in Teaneck.
