Dr. John P. Kelly is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with over 15 years of experience in orthopaedic medicine. Consistently recognized as one of the, “Top Doctors in Orange County,” Dr. Kelly has a long history of providing compassionate and personalized care for his patients. He specializes in sports medicine, minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, fractures, pediatric orthopaedics, hand surgery, spinal disorders, and foot and ankle problems.
Dr. Kelly obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. His education continued at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. While at Georgetown, Dr. Kelly served as a Medical Council Executive Officer. Dr. Kelly completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.
Dr. Kelly has remained involved in many orthopaedic research efforts and is internationally known for his skills as an orthopaedic surgeon. He has made significant scientific and clinic research contributions to the field of orthopaedic diseases and treatments. In addition, Dr. Kelly has published articles and papers in various medical journals. He has had the privilege of presenting his work at national orthopaedic conferences and medical meetings.
At present, Dr. Kelly is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orange County Medical Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Memorial Care Surgical Center at Orange Coast.

Do not go to this doctor as they do not treat their patients well. It's a money making business for them. He made me wait for several days and then just sent me to another doctor. Even medicines to bear the pain were not recommended unless asked. Sometimes they push over the work to junior doctors as they have taken their patients for granted. Worst hospital I have ever been to!

Dr. Kelly was great! He took the time to listen to my health issues, and we discussed each of them. He didn't needlessly do X-rays or any other procedure, which is great. I feel like so many doctors push additional procedures just to add to the bill. The one downside - the front office staff. I had fully filled out all my paperwork via ZocDoc, and I let the lady at the desk know that. She told me that it was different paperwork (there were a few privacy policies, but the longest documents were personal information and medical history). Therefore, I told her that those documents looked the same. She told me that she would look for the ZocDoc documents, but after 15 minutes, I gave in and filled out the new paperwork. Due to that, I ended up getting seen 45 minutes late.

Dr. Kelly was up beat and personable. He made me fell very comfortable and was patient with me. The staff was polite and knowledgeable. They took x-rays of my foot which has been bothering me for 2 months. Dr. Kelly explained my treatment options as well as ordered me physical therapy.

Have been a patient since 2015, every visit I have been treateed the same. Doctor takes his time to explain everything and shows care. I continue to return to Dr. Kelly because he is caring and a great surgeon.

I came in with a worst fracture. I was taken back soon after finishing my paperwork. The staff was friendly. Dr. Kelly was nice, he made me feel comfortable. He made sure to answer all my questions. I was put in a cast, and healed. I would recommend Dr. Kelly for orthopedic issues.
